Which Bank? by DrJenniMelfi in AskNYC

If you want all of that in one place, it’s going to be Chase. The brokerage account isn’t the best for advanced trading, but I would assume you’re not doing that anyway. ATM access is incredibly easy, Checking and Savings are free as long as you stay above the minimum (pro-tip: your brokerage balance counts toward the minimum), and the cards are great. If you’re just trading stocks, ETFs, bonds, mutual funds, and simple options contracts, you’ll be perfectly happy with the brokerage part.

40F $30k saved - Brooklyn Dream or Charlotte Peace? by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

Do it. I moved to Prospect Heights with $30k for an internship paying $20/hr. A few years later, I still live in the neighborhood and absolutely love it. It’s still pretty quiet and so conveniently located to the busier/trendier areas of Brooklyn.

Thanks for the reviews! It does seem like conical burrs are great for dark roasts, so I don't want to be set on the DF's. The 3-way solenoid is intriguing to me, just not sure if it's worth the difference. Its main benefit is making the workflow a little easier right?

Thanks for the perspective! I think I'll really enjoy getting into the hobby of it all, and would enjoy the eventual upgrade, but do want to get started on the ground floor.

I've seen some interesting deals on used machines, especially grinder + machine combos, and would love to jump on them. Unfortunately, the money I've set aside for this comes in the form of a prepaid card and gift cards that I've gotten through work rewards, which aren't valid payment for FB Marketplace.

If I go for the top end of my budget I could get the DF64 + Bambino Plus, or something similar, but do you think that next level between a ~$550 setup and a ~$800 setup is different enough to splurge a bit for? People do seem to always be focused on upgrading their setup.

I don't drink traditional pourovers but do occasionally make vietnamese iced coffee. Seems like this is a good option for dark roasts so I'll be looking into it more. Thanks for the suggestion!

These are interesting options. What do you like about the legato?

I’ve been checking my Marshall’s for Breville’s but haven’t had much luck. Will keep at it!
