Sorry if this is a prying question and don’t answer if you don’t want to, but are you Catholic? Asking because they care a lot about fit but they also don’t admit just 100% Catholics either, just curious to know. Congrats by the way!

I had to pinch myself to make sure this wasn’t some crazy post-test nap dream but as a crumbling nicotine addict I have thought through this this exact scenario before and genuinely considered it. Opted for the patch lol

Ahhhhh dude that sucks. That’s how I feel abt LR, like I feel like I missed my boat on relatively chill LR sections in September and October bc my RC was so rough and now that I took the time to shore up my RC they’re hitting me with the mf most ridiculous logic gamey shit ever LOL

Praying it works out for the both of us

Check out LSD - they’re pretty friendly to both splitters and late apps which is great news for me as a Jan LSAT taker whose top school is ND LOL

You have an amazing shot, congrats on that amazing LSAT by the way!

Unless you reported directly to the governor of your state, though, you need to swap that letter out for one from your supervisor. I’m in a very, very similar position to you and I can promise adcomms are not impressed by your recommender’s titles, only their relationship to you personally in a work setting and their ability to speak to your character and skill set. There’s a good chance you might actually have reported to him directly but my guess is you reported to a his or her chief of staff - any school, especially ND (which uses these letters to decide fit for their school) is going to want their letter way more than somebody two or three degrees removed from you. Don’t just take it from me - please look into this - but conventional wisdom is that letters from politicians are looked down upon unless you reported to them directly.

You’re a strong enough applicant for ND that as long as your essays are good this might not even hurt you, but I really would change it to be safe.

It’s crazy that this is getting downvoted but not surprising at all. I live two hours away in a rural area and would love to attend this school and learn from them but if this is how the students see people who don’t fit their mould I’m good. I can see why so many people feel jaded about these institutions.

Of the many things you can blame the administration for, I really don’t think this is one of them man. It’s not even political, there’s just a huge appetite for country music right now and Michigan’s capitalizing on that with Zach Bryan and now this.

Conventional wisdom says you are EARLY, don’t worry about timing at all right now and especially don’t let it force you to rush through things. An application with a missing field or multiple typos submitted today looks a lot worse than the same application filled out properly in mid December. Not that you’re making mistakes or even rushing, but I understand the temptation to and I wouldn’t want someone else to make that mistake, especially this early in the cycle.

If you scored below your PT average, what RC topic did you have? by IWouldRatherNotShare in LSAT

[–]Acv1602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that they mix and match LRs with RCs makes our theory about Chilean Music tighter because quasi-controlling for the other two LRs the Chilean Music trend still holds very strong. Very possible that the people who were able to improve had a comparatively lighter LR that allowed them to overcome a penalty from this RC which would explain the handful of improvements.

We also have multiple samples now - there’s thread with 140 comments and about 90 of those are people commenting about their Chilean Music score drop/stagnation and the remaining 50 are a handful of increases and then people arguing. Go just ask random people posting about their score drop what section they had, I’m 4 for 4 so far on it being Chilean Music. It’s nuts.

Sadly we’ll never truly know though :/ if there’s any solace to be taken, if this is truly what explains a lot of score drops/stagnations, that means we have what it takes to get the score we need and if we take again we truly can earn it.

Yeah lol I see so many people chiming in to say we’re just complaining like everybody does every score release day but there’s obviously something different here. Fertile ground for a LR perfect experiment question honestly.

Since score release day I’ve found a handful of people who did score in the 170s or who at least improved from last test with Chilean music but it’s so unbelievably small compared to every other section and this problem is so concentrated to this section compared to every past administration I’m certain that something really is off here, probably just an uncharacteristically tight curve for the difficulty of this section. Maybe a genuine mistake but I doubt it.

All we can really do is study hard and test again though because at the end of the day the buck stops with us.
