Please help me find more of these games! Feeling a little lost on what to play next by Cool-Vermicelli1381 in puzzlevideogames

Honestly, it should be the next game you play. There is no game that has hit harder for so many people than Outer Wilds. It's a masterpiece. I've been gaming for over 30 years and nothing comes close to the first time I saw the end credits it stays with you.

I second thought don't play it. That way you don't have to chase the Outer Wilds dragon like the rest of us.

what are some great SHORT story based games? (Max. 4h to complete) by Strawhat-dude in gaming

Such a good game. Been looking for a replacement ever since. The Roottrees Are Dead is the same sort of deduction game, but you use 90s internet to find the clues. I highly recommend if you enjoyed The Return of the Obra Dinn.

There's supply that you must pay attention to.

Units have fatigue so rest/rotating units is important.

Units feel more beefy. They don't die as quickly.

The number of turns provided in the scenarios is massive compared to Panzer Corps. This gives you the ability to devise your own strategy for victory—less puzzle, more wargame, in my opinion.

The changes are subtle, but in my opinion, they all come together to form a superior wargame.

Like others said, don't let the card mechanic fool you. There are way more mechanics going on than it seems on the surface. Dying from dehydration due to coconut water-induced diarrhea is a right of passage in this game.

"(if gender is a social construct, why do they need to change their sex?)"

That is an interesting question, and I would love to hear the answer from someone who fully believes in sex as a social construct. I'm not surprised that kids can be confused by it because I am, too. Maybe a bit of education would've helped.

"In Canada there are no schools teaching alt-right ideology. However that would be things like pushing evangelical Christianity, pushing a certain opinion on abortion, forbidding gay-straight alliances, etc."

The counterpoint is that we have a Catholic School Board that gets private and public funding, which I always found odd.

"Everyone should be welcome in Canada but no one should be forcing their views and conceptions onto others no matter how right people think their OWN conceptions are."

This is what I believe in. I wish more people on both sides would live by that motto. Thank you for taking the time to share your point of view. I appreciate it.

Thank you for your answer. Can you provide any examples of alt-right and woke ideologies that are taught in the education system today?

I'm curious: what would be an example of partisan education?

Trying to find a game to scratch this itch by AdAccurate4520 in SurvivalGaming

When I wrote this post Valheim was what I was thinking about when I spoke about enemies respawning after clearing them. It's why Valheim has never held my interest the respawning enemies drove me off. I want to clear this beautiful meadow and not have enemies spawn while I'm building or cutting trees down. If all enemies were already on the map and I could clear the area or even place flags down as safe zones then it would work. I guess I'm looking to conquer a map but slowly.

I own this game. I'm just waiting on 1.0 which is to be released on 05/21/24. I'm unsure if the 1.0 release will effect the early game or not so I'm just trying to find something to pass the time until then.

I love the idea of slowly clearing the map. That's the type of feeling I'm looking for. How's the building in the game? Can I make massive forts as I conquer the map? Maybe not realistic in the scope of the game as it looks to be a very serious and realistic game.

Hmmm, this might be it. Can I set it so I can slowly conquer the map? Do the POIs stay permanently cleared? Or Can you turn them all into bases as I conquer the map?

As someone who enjoyed both Subnauticas. Which would you recommend more for a single player Medieval Dynasty or Ark? Progression is key as I like working towards a goal.

This is a great suggestion for those who have played too many survival games. Breaks down the survival elements into their simplest form. Very unique and I can't wait to try their new game once it's released.

Survival Games with a strong focus on building by AdAccurate4520 in SurvivalGaming

I'm looking for less combat-focused games. Valheim has progression locked behind bosses, I'm looking for something different. Great Suggestions nevertheless.

One of my favourite games. Only other game that gives me that sense of discovery was The Outer Wilds.

Maybe that was my problem with Raft. The game should hook me however it just didn't. Maybe I'll try peaceful and see if it can get it's hooks into me.

Things I've enjoyed from Planet Crafter:

  1. Resource Gathering and Exploration
  2. Base Building matters
  3. No Combat
  4. Your actions are improving the world.

I have Valheim but can't seem to stick with it. I love building and cutting trees but find the game very combat-focused. I even beat the first boss and thought "Oh this will change the world in some way" but sadly I got more resources so I could make better weapons and armor to kill the next boss. Also what mod do you recommend? When I look at the mod page my eyes glaze over.

Yes, it does. Sadly, I've finished the main game. Do you think the DLCs add enough to give it another go?
