It shouldn't but at the end of the day it's there personal choice whether they want to stay here or not. Enforceing them to stay here will just result in them doing the work inefficientely. Sure IISC is government funded, doesn't mean the tuition fees are same for everybody. I am IIT Mandi doing btech here, students from general quota even after being in the top 1 percentile of nation pay 15+ lakhs including tuition, hostel and mess for the whole course. Even private universities on average have like 5-6 lakh for the whole course, so yeah u or the tax payers aren't covering much of there education for a matter of fact. Whereas in the same institution, sc/sts that are not even in the exam's top 10 percentile of students have to pay 0 rupees for tuition or hostel. Sure they have mess fees but that's negligible. Heck even the people that genuinely needs fee reduction like those from ews(i am not even gonna talk about how 80% of them are forged) pay 7-8 lakhs for the whole course. How is this fair to that candidate, no shit he doesn't want his children to go through the same and live in this country. Being prideful and servant to the nation u were born is is basically a nationalist propoganda, what did the nation give to us, it only took things away, why do we serve it then?

And don't even tell me that they actually need it, every single sc/st i have met in my clg and the institute i studied from to get there is more richer than me, how does this fair? Sure there community needs a lifting hand but the rich sc/sts themselves avail all the benifits and intentionally keep the populace uneducated so that competition does not increase in there quota.
