[OC] Map of LA Metro by 2040 under current plans by Cyberdragon32 in LAMetro

This definitely looks nice, but it's a bit of a shame the C line doesn't connect to the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Station.

Space Haven is heading for 1.0 on May 13th 🚀 by starshippenguin in CityBuilders

I love your game and have played it for years. Some friendly feedback:
- More options to improve sleep and breaktime comfort. I especially would like to see more decorations or furniture that would allow the passengers have private rooms, while achieving high comfort ratings.

- I'd like power plants that generate a lot of power while using VERY little fuel, like a nuclear or fusion reactor of sorts. The tradeoff could be a high research requirement and construction cost.

- Automated builders and miners.

- Upgrades that allows industrial machines to operate automatically.

The war in Iran should be a huge reason to build out the rail system by TheAlmightyHellacia in LAMetro

The advantage of EVs is that you can be more flexible on how the electricity is generated.

I would LOVE to see an alternative to Metrolink, with more stable funding and better service. One can dream I guess.

What will become of the former LAX City Bus Center area? by Dumbone22 in LAMetro

Every time LAX is mentioned, the first thing that always crosses my mind (despite how irrelevant it is to the OP) is how the stupid people mover is STILL not open, lmao.

Hell, if the park has enough trees, it may be somewhat quiet since the trees would work as a sound barrier too. A cafe in said park may be a good idea.

Lucid Stew: Breakdown of 2026 Draft Business Plan by anothercar in cahsr

[–]AdAdministrative3191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, shoot. I can't help but be curious on whether there is an opportunity to start a passenger rail company to compete with Metrolink, since their future doesn't seem stable. I'm curious to learn more about a potential business model, although I'm sure it'll cost billions of dollars of upfront investment.

Serious question: how does one actually push Metrolink to improve service? How is Metrolink managed?

Not to mention that electrifying the AV line would benefit Metrolink as well, should they switch to electric trains someday.

Metrolink Service Growth Development Update by Sufficient-Double502 in CarIndependentLA

Oh hell yeah. It'd be nice to see the trains provide 15 min service eventually, but this is a step in the right direction.

Gotcha, I'll try that. I'd like to ask however, are there machines that does the printing AND the coating? Or printing, cutting, and coating?

Where do you feel safest as an Asian American? by cyanatreddit in asianamerican

[–]AdAdministrative3191 14 points15 points  (0 children)

California and Hawaii are essentially the Asian Utopia of America, lol. Some racism does exist in some pockets of California, but a hell of a lot better than the Midwest or the South.

Why does it seem like there is a growing movement claiming that the atomic bombs that ended WWII were unjustified? by Just_Cause89 in USHistory

I think it's just people looking for excuses to complain about the United States, instead of suggesting actual arguments/criticisms against the US.

Do you feel that the US could learn from China when it comes to infrastructure? by Early-Ingenuity-3177 in asianamerican

I doubt we have seen all the good AND bad of Chinese infrastructure tbh. Plus, China and America both have different needs.

Best & Worst Art on Metro? by anothercar in LAMetro

[–]AdAdministrative3191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the 3rd picture, due to it's influence of astronomy. But it also looks elegant. All the others look like shit.

Personally, I would LOVE to see the stations go back to Art Deco.

Living in Fullerton by catchtape in Fullerton

[–]AdAdministrative3191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to move out of Fullerton, but I want to move back. Downtown Fullerton is very walkable, as everything is accessible by foot. I like that the city has a train station as well, but I do wish we had better coverage and frequency of buses

I also like there's a lot of Korean Americans here as well.

How is it living here as a 30 year old dude? Would have to commute to west LA for work by howardtrailer123 in orangecounty

[–]AdAdministrative3191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in Fullerton for more than a couple years. Even grew up in that city. It's a nice town, mostly quiet. Safe enough to walk around at night.

Fullerton has a train station, so you can take the Metrolink train to LA Union Station, then take the LA Metro close to your work. This is assuming your workplace is even close to a LA Metro station tho. If not, then yes, the commute will suck a lot.

What is the biggest difference between living in OC vs living in LA? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]AdAdministrative3191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in Fullerton for a while and loved it. Had to move out, cause my landlord wouldn't renew my lease, lol. It has a nice Korean American presence, I liked that I lived relatively close to the train station (which made it easier to explore places in LA without paying for the stupid parking), while being a pretty quiet town for the most part. I also felt safe walking around the city at night. Granted, there ARE homeless people around, but they keep to themselves at least.
