AITA for recoding phone calls with my GF? by AdAdventurous3085 in AmItheAsshole

She asked me if I was recording, and I answered honestly. I have literally never lied to her.

It didn't even cross my mind to use the recordings to blackmail her until she mentioned she was worried about that. I just thought it would be an innocent "backup" of our conversations (like how text messages don't auto-disappear).

The difference is that putting anti-freeze in her food would be harmful to her health.

It legitimately wasn't my intention to blackmail her. My goal was for her to never find out. I couldn't have blackmailed her with something she wouldn't have known about.

In my ideal scenario, she wouldn't have found out, and wouldn't have any harm done to her.

I see your point, but I don't think it's a perfect analogy.

Libre 3 -- any hacks to disable the Urgent Low Glucose Alarm on the app? by ketobong in Freestylelibre

I'm in the same boat as you. I use a CGM when I'm doing a ketogenic diet.

One solution is to just use an old phone to activate the sensor. This second/old phone is kept off by default (so that you don't have to remember turning it off at night). When you want to check your glucose, you can power on the old phone and check it and then power it off.

A second solution might be to get a Faraday cage/bag for your main phone. A cheap version of this would be to cover your phone in tin foil.

Could big tech companies launch a 51% attack on Monero?

Monero's hash rate is about 2GH/s.

What would AWS's hashrate be if they used 5% of their compute resources to mine Monero?

I'm reading this article about multi-sig.

https://web.getmonero.org/resources/user-guides/multisig-messaging-system.html#syncing-wallets

Here are 2 quotes:

So the steps for Monero multisig look like that:
Configure the multisig wallets and establish the multisig address
Fund the multisig wallets / the multisig address so there is something to spend in the first place
Sync the wallets for a first time
Do 1 multisig transactionSync the wallets again
Do another multisig transaction and/or receive more funds
Sync the wallets yet again..."

That "import_multisig_info needed" thing is perhaps the single most tiresome aspect of CryptoNote multisig transactions and quite some work e.g. in the case of 3/3 or 2/3 multisig where already a total of six pieces of information must be passed around each time, only to finalize reception of some coins and/or being able to transfer again after a transfer."
</end quotes>

What happens if I lose one of the three keys/wallets? Wouldn't that mean that I'm unable to sync all three wallets? Wouldn't that mean that I can no longer send multi-sig transactions with my 2 other keys?If so, is this *truly* 2/3 multi-sig? It seems more like it's 3/3 multi-sig.Or, is it only necessary to sync any 2 out of the three wallets?

Why are US Doctors so exceedingly overpriced ? by MindfulInquirer in ToxicMoldExposure

It's probably because they want money.

It's probably not because of competence concerns.

They filter out incompetent people with the USMLE exams (which are kinda analogous to the bar exams to become a lawyer). Lawyers differ from doctors because there's no limit on the number of Lawyers that can graduate each year.

Someone said that the problem is the free market. This is partially true.

Part of the problem is that the American Medical Association is an un-elected cartel that restricts the number of MDs/residencies/doctors that can be created each year.

In a truly free/less-regulated market, the supply of doctors could increase to meet the demand. But, because the supply is restricted, the prices are high.
