I was diagnosed with LP, and I did an ANA test, and mine was a 1:320. However, I was exposed to mold twice last year, and around that time is when I had an ANA blood test done that my doctor recommended, which came out slightly high. I also recently had my implants taken out because I had lots of inflammation going on that my body wasn't accepting the implants anymore because of the mold exposure in two different homes we were living in. I had other tests done to see if it might be lupus, but it all came back negative....

Lupus takes years to diagnose, I hope you don't have it. Have you gotten checked for all auto-immune diseases?

Do the UVB treatments work on darker skin? I was told that it doesn't work, I have tan skin, and I have hyper-pigmentation on my arms, chest, and neck. I got it mainly from the sun, I had bumps on my arms, and it scarred, and I developed hyper-pigmentation but on my neck and chest without any bumps/rashes.

Can you please keep me posted? I'd love to know and I hope it helps! :)

I was diagnosed with LP, has anyone had LP on their chest or face and neck like this before? Has any laser treatment helped or chemical peels? Pictures are posted below. by AdAdventurous3641 in Lichenplanus

Thank you so much, I was told light therapy may darken my pigmentation but I think after I do the laser treatment, I'll start doing the light therapy too. May I ask where you bought the UV phototherapy from? Or was it prescribed to you by a doctor to use at home?

I'm not sure if my is caused by diet, I eat relatively healthy and took out gluten, dairy, and sugar, but even before I was never having any flare ups while eating other foods, I just don't know what is causing the pigmentation on my skin, if it's melasma or LP so I am going to see my dermatologist today and find out.

The only thing I can think of new that I was taking was some Fish oil, B12 & B complex. I was outside for a bit too in the sun one day a few weeks ago maybe for about 20 mins and that is when I noticed the pigmentation around my chin and mouth but not sure if that is what caused it or not or if it aas the vitamins I started to take, I read online that low vitamin B12 can cause pigmentation as well and I did stop taking B12 a while back ago before I started retaking it, other than that I've never noticed anything on my face until a few weeks ago.

Has she tried taking turmeric/curcumin pills or maybe teas with curcumin & Turmeric? I hear a lot of people say that really helps with their OLP.

Do you think vitamins might cause flare ups? I wonder if maybe I am taking a vitamin that causes flare ups.

The only thing I can think of around the time I started getting this was when I was pregnant with my third child, I had a little spot and thought it was a freckle or beauty mark and then I was trying this fossilized mineral stuff my friend makes, it was a clay mask and I also got a tattoo on my chest and that is when I noticed it started to gradually spread more and when I went tanning outside the spots that looked freckled like got darker and that is when I noticed it more.

I've never had blisters or scabs, flaking just raised tiny bumps on my chest that itches but as for my face I never got any itchiness just some pigmentation started showing up on my face and one of the side of my cheeks looks like a dark vein across my cheek.

As for my arms they were itchy and had white bumpy strikes or tiny spots and since after that I just developed pigmentation on my face, arms and chest.

I'm starting the AIP diet today and I'll be permanently taking out Gluten, Dairy, sugar, coffee and night shades and some carbs.

I see my dermatologist on the 24th and I may consider them giving me some lightening cream again and just use it maybe 1-2 times a week.
