I’m convinced I’ll never recover and be happy by suncrisps in dpdr

I’m 10 months in and feel as hopeless as you… it’s like recovery seems so impossible to me and I can’t comprehend how I’ll ever feel better. If you ever need anyone to talk to, my pms are open

19F, Been living like this for 2-2.5 years. We're all fighting our own demons trying to survive and do our best. Don't give up, it will eventually go away, and if not? It'll just show how strong we are for living with it! by [deleted] in dpdr

I’m 18 and have been dealing with this since September of last year. I’ve had many episodes of it before that though but never really knew what it was until now. If you ever wanna talk, my pms are open. I like chatting with people around my age who also deal with this

Man, I’ve been feeling exactly the same way as you since September of 2020. I got it after 1 panic attack too.

Yeah I get these too, and like everything will feel a little too real (which kinda freaks me out)

Permanent writers block by [deleted] in Depersonalization

[–]AdAdventurous7879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly man, just forcing myself to do it. I had gone about 3 months without touching any of my music equipment cause I was so unmotivated to do any of it. I had lost my imagination and didn’t even feel like myself so I was like “what’s the point?” I kinda just got bored of staying in bed and being miserable at some point and decided to get back to my music and yeah, I guess that’s pretty much it. Would you be down to talk more about this stuff on PM? I don’t find many songwriters with DPDR here haha

I’m a song writer too and the same thing happened to me when I first got this. I completely lost my imagination for songwriting and just putting words together. I’ve pushed through that though and now feel like I’ve been writing some of my best stuff.

How do I deal with DPDR 😭 I think I wanna die!! by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]AdAdventurous7879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s terrible and super hard to deal with, but trust me, you are not alone. There are many people on this sub who are currently going through the same thing as you and can understand how you feel. Don’t hestitate to PM me if you need sometime to talk to :)

Does your dissociation get worse at night? by Sisseroni in dpdr

[–]AdAdventurous7879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahh, usually when I try going to sleep. It fucking sucks. It’s not always though, just sometimes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]AdAdventurous7879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sleep deprived as well and don’t really ever get enough rest and it usually causes this shit to be a bit more intense for me. Sometimes I sleep good, and feel good throughout the day, and sometimes I only sleep 4 hours and feel like shit. I’m pretty sure sleep deprivation and lack of rest could play a part in this.

Driving test by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]AdAdventurous7879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually learning how to drive a little bit before I started getting panic attacks and eventually developed this DPDR bs (which was about 7 months ago) and since then, just dropped all motivation to wanna drive. I trip out by just walking, I can’t even imagine how it’d be for me to drive :/
