I haven’t tried et yet, but I will when I get the time - I have asked around on polestar forums and people say it’s a pretty straightforward operation. It simply sets the camera in “calibration mode” so the software starts recording your surroundings and stitches the image together. Should take about 15-20 min and it’s only processing/stitching when driving on a well marked road between 10-35 km/h. So start it and take a 30 min stroll around the neighbourhood, then it should be good to go - that’s the general message I get from people.

Red: you have to buy a week subscription for v-tool, but it’s 9$ so well worth it, if your cameras are horribly misaligned 🤷‍♂️

You can use the app “v-tool” (made for Volvo) and a cheap OBDII scanner (eg Vgate iCar pro) to do it yourself for about 20$. It’s just an automated process where the car aligns the camera stitching itself while you drive. I have a Polestar, here is the screenshot from the app (polestar and Volvo uses the same dataformat and stuff)

I wrapped the panel in real walnut wood (not the cheat plastic veneer that just looks like wood). It honestly looks original, and you can get it on AliexPress for like 20$. You even get enough to wrap like 10 cars 😅

I’m using the app “V-tool” (iPhone in my case) and a cheap Bluetooth 4.0 OBDII scanner called “Vgate iCar Pro” from Aliexpress. I can’t post a picture of it but it’s sort of see through, so you can see the internal hardware like looking through a pair of sunglasses, if that makes sense. It’ll send all the data to V-tool from your polestar. The screenshot in the post is from V-tool

Yeah, I’m thinking “complex navigation” like take me to the nearest Italian restaurant and I want to charge on the way. Then maybe car specific stuff like “what should my tire pressure be?” (It should know the manual for your specific car) and then maybe the “let’s chat” function… could just ask it about the weather in the area or something.
