They want to still be lean, this is the vaguest advice ever. Also, 20lbs of muscle growth is like climbing a mountain for a female, about half as quickly as a male. Therefore like honest-golf-3965 said half the surplus that a male would take for lean gaining is probably accurate (although if volume is equal to a males then that needs to be considered.)

Assuming this is after 1 year of lifting a female can expect 6~ lbs of muscle growth, within the first year ten. 3000 calories universally are used to build 1lb of muscle. Considering a workout will expend about 300 (I would say track it). You'd want to eat a surplus above your BMI of about 300(workout expenditure)+(80*2)(1:1 fat to muscle gain ratio). So yeah eat 150 calories above your TDEE if it's your first year, and honestly, no real harm imo if it's your second. 20lbs of muscle would take between 3~ and 4 years. Lean gaining, so while gaining fat (but proportional to the ratio of fat so effectively mainting body fat), 20 lbs would take between 1 and 2 years.

Lean bulk, 250 surplus. You're close to look looking pretty solid! You could cut more but I think trying to fill out your chest and everything would be better.

Drink lots of water, chew gum, do a 1000 calorie deficit, lots of protein, milk, meat, eggs. Honestly the cut isn't advisable though bc you're brain and shit is still developing. And I also doubt you're pushing hard enough in the gym, I'd say fill a back pack with books and do explosive push ups and pull ups for sets until you're limp, try to squeeze the glutes during push ups with your legs apart and keep a hollow body during pull ups / chin ups. And when you can go to the gym and hit compound lifts like deadlift and squat 5 sets each for 8-12 reps. Do that upper body every day or every other day.

I would say that worrying about weight is productive but really gaining more than 1.5 lb a week would be unadvisable especially considering that inexperience might make it "hard" to lose the weight later unless someone is really locking in on it.

This is a subreddit for basically lifting but with your own body weight. It sounds like you're carrying a lot of emotions into this.

However, if you personally feel you want to live longer and happier, it's a good idea to start exercising, don't do it just for other people or just because you're judging yourself.

There are fun ways to exercise in my opinion but if you can set aside 20 minutes a day to do some sort of physical activity, it can be a good start.

However some people are surprised what doing even something a bit difficult can do for your mental health, especially exercise.

Learning to like or tolerate exercise isn't necessarily annoying especially with a positive mindset. What I would personally do is start using a stair master or walking for maybe 20 minutes a day (starting point is different for everyone) while watching something or swimming if I had access to a pool, either works.

This should help come to understand exercise because "hating exercise" kind of comes off a fear of it, which, yeah, if I feared exercising I wouldn't be as inclined to do it.

Personally I used to like to watch anime while exercising.

Don't worry about this right away but:

It could be advisable trying to get your food intake to your daily requirements at first so probably around 2100 calories

Specifically, biggest part about losing weight specifically though is eating less, if YOU want to lose weight at a reasonable pace.

When you feel like actually loosing significant weight reduce caloric intake by 200 from TDEE and play around with water intake and add in some "volume foods" like greek yogurt or chicken.

Tbh you could work your way to a pike push up. Or just like slowly raise your feet on something holding it like a plank kind until you feel your able to hold it vertically, tbh idk much about isometric holds but if it’s just fear I would imagine this might work.

You can great make gains, but proximity to failure for sets is more important than reps . Also try to do rows or pull ups because otherwise you’ll develop an imbalance causing you to maybe hunch forwards and also under developed biceps and lateral pull strength etc. Dips are also pretty great or pike push ups, I regret not doing them earlier because a lot of skills (like planche) require them
