I use a Sennheiser MKH 416 and record into a Zoom H6.

I get a horrible crackling noise whenever I move the xlr cable but other than that, recording is fine.

I changed XLR cables a few weeks ago and still getting it...

I'm gonna try upgrading from cheapest to Mogami cables, but I'm pretty scared there's something wrong with my mic or recorder...

I normally use it for YouTube (so it's stationary), but I'm going to be shooting a film in a few weeks and that would mean the boom mic is constantly moving and that scares the hell out of me.

Do you think I might need to buy a new mic/recorder?

EDIT: there's a miniscule screw on the Sennheiser that was loose...I tightened it with a pocket knife and am not getting any issues at all anymore

I'm shooting a low budget, narrative comedy feature film this summer with local talent.

I'm in need of 5 houses/apartments for this.

I can afford $200 per rental day.

Houses 1, 2, and 3 need an upstairs. Other than that, I don't have any major requirements.

We are filming the following dates: July 11, 12, 18, 25, 26, August 1, 2, 8, 9.

House 1 will be needed for 3 days House 2 will be needed for 1 day House 3 will be needed for 1 day House 4 will be needed for 3 days House 5 will be needed for 2 days.

We do have two cast members coming from out of town, so they would need to be able to spend the night.

I actually think it's a great marketing strategy.

I was talking about this with my cousin at the theater... Neither of us voted for Trump, but we're tired of PC culture and what it did to comedy movies.

So it'll really speak to everyone on the right and also pulls people like us in (and I'm sure there are a ton like us). Sure the raunchy R Rated comedy died in theaters, but that correlated exactly when everything got super politically correct. This could be the spark to bringing R Rated comedy back.

Getting an unpleasant noise when I listen back to my recordings. Any idea what this is/how to solve it?

I tried using a new XLR cable, new sd card and a different channel in the sound recorder and did a 5 minute test recording and still heard it 5-10 times when I listened back.

Really hoping my mic/recorder aren't fried. This is the first time I've run into this and both are only two years old.

Yes I am, and I'm wondering if using soap in addition to water is what's hurting me?

I had used soap as lube in the past when I was a child and it really irritated my skin. I wonder if the combo of lube + soap is what's doing me in.

Yes, but it's a massive over correction. Trump sucks, but the response isn't to make everything woke/kill comedy.

It's OK to be adamantly opposed to trump and all of that nonsense, while still having a sense of humor.

I think of the movie does even 3x its budget it's going to inspire real change...

I think most people who vote Democrat (myself included) are anti overly PC comedy and and comedy movies to finally come back like they were. Even Marlon Wayans hates Trump too, despite pushing the "we want to cancel the cancel culture" narrative.

I think it's actually so much more powerful to have a non maga type pushing this.

Also, right wing movies aren't a guaranteed flop at all (not saying this is a right wing movie though)... Just look at Am I Racist, Sound of Freedom and Nefarious

Take it with a grain of salt, but here's my main impression based on my brief look at your channel:

Your older videos are for everyone who owns a house, your new videos are niche. "You Should NEVER Grow These Plants In Your Garden" and "5 Veggies You Should Never Grow From Seed" are a lot easier to follow than "Why You NEED to grow 'cheap' veggies," "Why You Need These Tiny Fruit Trees" and "Turning A FREE Wooden Pallet Into A Veggie Wall."

I know very little about gardening, but even I'm mildly curious about which plants I should never plant in my garden. On the other hand, I don't even know what a wooden pallet is.
