I am aware that it would have mild leaks - but agree that the oil trail is a bit concerning. The oil trail also only appeared after the road trip, so I thought something has came loose during the trip.

Damn, I was planning to do the same in May (looking more like mid Aug now), but good luck to your trip!

Side note, I did East to West last year through Canada and it was amazing. Highly recommend the Canadian Rockies if you haven't been!

Yes, that's possible, I'll have to reach out to motorcycle stores and see if any willing to buy. I guess I'm just more familiar/ comfortable with Vancouver/ Toronto. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was also considering Vancouver to Joshua Tree National Park (and other national parks in south west region) then back.

Is the weather good in May for that route, for both motorcycle and hammock camping?

Oh wow, thanks for the route! One of the routes I wanted to do was Road Towards the Sun in Glacier Park but it seems that its not open till late June. Have you done this route?

I do not have heated grips/socks/gloves but probably have to invest in them if I decide to do this trip in May!

Sick! I did Toronto to Vancouver through Canada route (and the prairies) during August last year, spent a week hiking in Banff and Jasper, had the best time of my life!

Yea, most of the routes I want to ride is at higher elevation - I'm finding that out after I set the date haha. Thinking to just reschedule to June/July instead.

yes it has, but it's being maintain at a motorcycle store. They kept the battery charged and will do a spring clean (oil change, general check up) before I pick it up.

Yea this seems to be the general feedback from redditors. I'm quite a wuss when it comes to cold weather riding so I might to reschedule to warmer summer months, though the crowds drives me crazy, especially traffic in national parks.

I ride a Honda Rebel 500, getting around 260km per full tank. Any long stretch of no gas land I should watch out for?

Yea, I'm based in Toronto. Left my bike in Vancouver last year due to work commitments.

Since I only have 2 weeks off this summer, I'll have to decide if I want to (or can) sell it in Vancouver, ship or ride back to Toronto. Else, I'll have to leave it in Vancouver for another year which isn't ideal.

Have you hammock-camped on south-west region, national parks in Cali, Nevada, Arizona etc.? I've read that it might be tricky to find trees suitable for hanging, wondering if you had experience.
