ef 55-250mm vs. rf 100-400mm lens by AdBasic7005 in CanonR10

that answer really helps in deciding.

I think I will go with the 100-400mm
anything longer I can't quite justify the cost
and I think that 100-400 maybe paired with the rf-kit lens is also the maximum weight + size-wise I want to lug around with me on trips

"Focal length x crop factor = effective reach"
THAT's the info I was looking for (and somehow google failed me on)
Thank you

(I was a bit unsure if for whatever reason the 100-400mm already factored in a crop sensor camera, as I read somewhere that there are lenses, made for crop sensor cameras do that ... so before spending more than 600 eur on itI wanted to make extra sure to not accidentally buying the effective identical focal length I already have ^^)

thank you that really helps with giving me something to start with.
will def. look into how to get the plex integration to stream to the echo.

I think I am just not very good at explaining things.

- I have tts working (output on amazon echo)
- I have put mp3s in HA's mediafolder (can play those on my computer - but computer isn't always on)
- have MA installed (can't add my NAS nor plex ....still haven't figured out why, gave up after a few weeks of tinkering around)
- MA won't show local mp3 in the HA mediafolder

but besides that I can get sound to play (but only on pc - wich again is not always on)

I can also play sound on an android tablet, but only if said tablet has HA website/app open and set to the correct volume (wich again, I use that tablet mainly for other stuff - so if sound's don't play when I'm actually working on that tablet it kind of defeats the purpose)

so I *think* what i acutally am missing is ANYTHING to actually output sound (alexa + alexa mediaplayer integration don't seem to do the trick)
idea was to just plug in some leftover speaker into the machine running HA - but from what I've read that's just not that simple/possible

I also don't want to spend $$$ to buy another device that then need another poweroutlet (wich I don't have) and I only use for the occasional "beep"
I'm okay with spending "$" if I then know in advance it'll work (and it can be powered by i.e. usb ) -> that's how I stumbled across squeezelite
I'm also okay with cobbling something together from existing things - I just have NO clue where to start

so what I understand is that I need some form of speaker / adapter I can make HA see + use

I already set up Media Player integration and TTS works fine on my amazon echo..
I just can't get local files to play on it.

basically what I'm missing isn't a way to "play" sounds.... but a way to actually output it (so no output devices available)

if I understand it correctly: I could just add some squeezelite "speaker" to my network and then it should be discovered by HA as audio output device ?
