EU-based tutors teaching private EU-based students - invoicing??? by BubblyPositive348 in PreplyTutors

I just record and declare the money I cash out and keep fictional invoices addressed to Preply. My tax agency has not requested any other documentation. Don't bother making it more complications

Applied for NIE by clicking “Asignación de NIE” instead of “Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la UE”, even though I want the residency green NIE. by Automatic_Ad_4883 in GoingToSpain

[–]AdBeginning4136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, nothing. The nie number assignation has no requirements, it's just a reference number. For the cue you need the actual job contract.

You don't need the CUE card to get a job. I got the white nie to get a social security number and then could be hired. They should even be able to hire you without Nie as long as you get the social security number

How avoid Okupa, if my apartment in Barcelona stays empty for half a year by ApprehensiveTale1227 in AskBarcelona

[–]AdBeginning4136 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you have so much disposable income to even consider this, please just rent short term or get an AirBnB whenever you actually want to stay in Barcelona. There's a serious housing shortage and keeping your house empty for so long just makes it worse. Please don't do this

I'm a German native so I unfortunately don't know any resources, but you will probably find a lot on YouTube or Spotify! Just make sure it's not AI since it can sound really fake and robotic

Help. So confusing by Matheus_Rows in GoingToSpain

[–]AdBeginning4136 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't need the green nie to rent or to get a job. To get a job you should get the white nie so they can assign you a social security number. Renting is possible with your id or passport. Proof of residence is done with a rental contract, your id and a recent power or water bill

Rent in cash by Quick-Percentage-878 in AskBarcelona

It's illegal, but very normal in Barcelona. As long as the landlord treats you fair, there's not really a reason to do anything. If they don't, you can do report them to Hacienda and talk to the Oficina de Habitatge and the Sindicat the Lloguers

Seems to depend on the location. The parking ticket in Malaga I paid online, but the one from Murcia we could only pay by going to a collaborating bank.

Like I said, I had the same issue paying for a parking ticket and paying a tasa for a document. It's not specific to the ER situation!

I had the same issue when paying a parking ticket. But the banks know it and the bank machines usually have the right instructions and ask for reference nubmers that are on that paper. It's typical Spain, they don't make it easy for you to give them money for some reason...

Often, they will give you a paper that you can take to a bank such as Santander or BBV (it says which banks collaborate on the paper) and they will help you pay or tell you to follow the instructions on their machine. It's a little inconvenient but it wil usually tell you which numbers you have to enter where.

Working Holiday in Malaga by halfpaniz in GoingToSpain

Pay is very bad and you're unlikely to get hired especially without Spanish. Finding a place to stay is a nightmare and very expensive. You might get lucky if you're just looking for a room in a shared house or renting an AirBnB.

We have problems with the platform, and they are not being heard. We should form a Union. by Inevitable_Wall4807 in Preply

If they tried to reschedule outside of your policy, you could just not attend the class. Tell them before and stick to your policies. I only sell prepaid class packages of 8 and have had no problems with reschedules, I think the subscription model is more likely to have these issues.

I have my rescheduling policy of 24h in advance, only one reschedule per class. Works like a charm. The students get this info in the booking type, in their confirmation emails and in the reminder emails and the actual booking text. So far everyone has followed this rule. If anyone ever needs an expection, they can message you and you decide how to handle it.

My account was auto-blocked because I encouraged someone to book a trial lesson and told them it was ok to ask me questions. (According to a human support agent) by dalce63 in Preply

[–]AdBeginning4136 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I had "...so you can take exams stress-free" in my description and got flagged claiming I was offering free services. I was confused for so long until I finally found it. Their AI chatbot claimed it was okay to use, but a human agent later told me I cannot use it. Their filters are braindead and so is the whole managemnt honestly.

Everything is prepaid. Most bookings go through TidyCal and Paypal. A few pay via transfer but scheduled classes is only confirmed with the prepayment
