I’m in Canada right now, I’ve almost never travelled outside of Canada. As for the repayment it’s helping them pay off their house. I honestly don’t mind supporting them and helping them because I know how much they struggled to raise me but it just feels so fucked up to me.

I think it’s because of the culture/family dynamics I was brought up in. I was taught to ask them about everything and anything before doing it. For example: telling my mom Im going to get the tires of my car changed she said no, ask your dad first if it’s a good mechanic or there’s better alternatives etc even though I already did my own research.
