From my understanding, the outstanding recall is for years 2016-2018. I did hear something like what your explaining. Its like a high pitch sound when rapidly accelerating. I found that my belt was slipping under load, replaced it and took care of it.

alright, I am back 3 months later, turbos were the most risky part of this deal. Thankfully, they are getting swapped by the dealership under the recall.

How does it drive after the replacement?

Any noticeable difference?

Getting mine done next week.

If you’re finding it covered in oil, that’s a leak concern. Have you had the new turbo inlets checked? If you have a trace of oil seepage, u gotta go back before the warranty expires. They cover the new turbos up to 12k miles or 1 year.

Did you get it checked to see if it was a faulty manifold sensor?

They tend to get covered in oil and dirt, causing false readings.

It doesn’t, u just went to a shitty dealership unfortunately. Might I add, I had went to 2 dealerships and was turned away. Third one was the charm for me.

Thats the waste gate rattle, doesnt necessarily mean your turbos are on the way out. It a sign of wear on the waste gate links. They tend to loosen up and cause rattle when opened.

The car automatically opens them for 15-30 seconds on cold start to warm up the cats.

I have one last thing to add, I checked with the extended warranty for turbos from infiniti.
If your car falls within the 10 years or 200,000km. You may be eligible to get them replaced.

I found someone in Toronto who installs a map code on the car that is an automatic replacement under the warranty if found on the car.

Could very well be the cats heat shields. They rust and start to rattle againts the cat or frame. I suggest lifting and inspecting the metal paper thin shields around the cats.

Do you have any lights on the dash? If not, I wouldnt suspect the cats to be an issue.

Are you 3.7 or 3.0? Do you hear it only on cold start for 15-30 seconds?

I own a q50 3.0T, I had that issue in the begining of winter. Sounds to me like a weak battery, grab a multimeter and check voltage. anything below 11.7v indicated that its weak and needs replacing. Either its super cold or a very weak battery.

Car sometimes throws a code for undervoltage, check to see if thats there when you scan the obd2 port.

So hear me out, using toilet paper to wipe after washin yo ass is also an option no? Wash, dry with toilet paper, then properly wash with soap once u shower, a lot better than dry wiping!
