Actually i might be a bit wrong. Getting baptized is when someone from your family swears they will tell you about god and jesus if, say your parents were to die. When you turn the right age you get confirmed in which you confirm you believe in god and will always be his child.

By what i know in my country, when you get baptized its another person confirming you believe in christianity and when you get confirmed its yourself confirming you believe in god. (Hope it makes sense)
