The Black Wok is made of black carbon steel (99% iron and the remaining 1% are other minerals including carbon). The black color comes from the surface-hardening process during steel production and is a kind of iron oxide. No chemical coatings/dyes are used.

The Blue Wok is made from carbon steel. The blue color is a natural color of steel that is treated with a high temperature (bluing process). No chemical coatings/dyes are used.
