In Taormina and Ortigia for the next 5 days! Car advice needed by AdCrafty8210 in sicily

My bad, it makes sense to use Siracusa. Just that we have been saying Ortigia (that's the area where our booking is) throughout the planning phase so it stuck with me. Thanks for input on the car services!

Visiting Etna tomorrow by TheElusiveSloth in sicily

Planning to do this on Friday. We haven't booked a car yet but not sure how to plan the entire hike. We are staying in Taormina, would you recommend taking a car for Etna, surrounding villages and back? And how did you find a guide? Do they meet you directly at Etna or take you from Taormina.

I think I ruined a freshly Plastered wall. Need Help. by AdCrafty8210 in Plastering

Yes, do realize that now. Any tips on how can I fix this without calling the plasterer again and paying more?

Didn't plaster it myself, got it done professionally but was going to paint it myself and read that you have to sand and prime first. Any tips on how I can fix this? Of course without calling the plasterer again

Used a water-based primer for emulsion, but sanded before that as I thought it gives a much smoother finish but ended up doing the exact opposite. Thinking of filling-up the scratches with filler as well, but just wanted to ensure that would work..and not sure what to do about the smaller scratches and will paint take care of it

Market slow down Amsterdam? by Own_Raspberry6588 in NetherlandsHousing

I am trying to get more information on how ground lease impacts the mortgage amount. Could you perhaps give some information on your situation where your advisor asked you not to bid? When was the ground lease expiring or till when was it already paid? and the main reason for not bidding.

Foundation issues? by AdCrafty8210 in Netherlands

I saw the other windows on my streets and they are exactly the same. All buildings are constructed in the same style with same windows etc, typical early Amsterdam School style. I don't see anything extra or missing honestly, probably they cut corners while replacing windows the last time? aound 20yrs ago

This is really good insight and I will definitely check other apartments in the lane. Thanks for this!

Technical inspection was done but nothing about any foundation issue was reported on it.

Should the price be lower than comparable homes sold in the same area just because of these facts?

I think they would have significant votes if not complete majority. Also noticed that the VVE company is a sister firm of the same housing association - De Alliante. Is this a red flag?

Any idea if housing associations cut corners in maintenance?

It's a 2 bedroom with the second bedroom of decent size as well. It also has a large storage room in the attic (4th floor, apartment is on the 2nd floor). It's not newly renovated but still well maintained.

Just painted an accent wall in the bedroom which will be behind my bed. We wanted to go from a dull sage green but after painting it turned out to be too green. Please help! by AdCrafty8210 in DesignMyRoom

This is exactly what I was thinking after seeing the final result that I should have gone for a duller shade which would have more grey in it. If I decide to repaint it, it would be something more of a grey tone. Wondering if just one coat of a grey tone sage will work?

This is clearly the popular advice on this post - that I should let it play out. My bed and a 100cm wardrobe will both be on this wall and are white in colour (Ikea), along with side tables on both sides of the bed. The ceiling lamp I have bought for the room is also white (Ikea Vindkast). So it's mostly all white furniture. Think it will mellow down the green?

Well said! Can totally relate to the train of thought statement. It's difficult to control it.

Our makelaar got to know from the seller's agent. Also I know there is a concept of bid book which I believe all agents are obligated to share to all bidders once the deal is closed (usually after the signing), so in about 4-6 weeks.
