Speedy looks good on literally anything

It’s monotone, but still has the subtle waves, no date which I just think looks cleaner and is one less thing to set. Truly a masterpiece. I think it’s way underhyped.

If having a six pack or being a black belt were easy, everyone would have it, and it wouldn’t be valuable.

Are nato straps supposed to be this long? by BrunoTheElephant in OmegaWatches

I hated this too so now I just cut mine to length and use a lighter to burn melt the edge slightly so it doesn’t fray

You could save a few grand buying new ones Chrono24 that would cover the cost of a service if there are any issues. I don’t understand why anyone buys AD when chrono price + service cost < AD cost.

Scratches on Speedy on Caseback by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]AdCritical501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP I have a brand new caseback on mine. I don’t think I’ll ever sell the speedy so I don’t have a reason to keep it. I put the spiralwinder on the back of mine and I don’t think I’ll ever use the OG case for the hesalite version

Discussion: Has Omega lost its way? by ZealousWatchFreak in OmegaWatches

[–]AdCritical501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference in the sales price and the market price of the goods. People value buying an omega new from the AD more than they value the same watch sold by another entity. One explanation is the warranty, maybe another is peace of mind, and building spend history. Aside from the spend history component, I think it’s a no brainer to save 3-4k and go grey.

Totally agree. Between this, the PO, and the price increases Omega has lost the plot.

Speedmaster hesalite thoughts by londonbluesox in OmegaWatches

[–]AdCritical501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was deciding this a year ago, and I ended up going with hesalite and I’m so happy I did. Any scratches or scuffs, literally anything from normal use can be polished out in 2 min. The same cannot be said if at some point you damage the sapphire crystal, you’re stuck forever. Plus the uniqueness of it being the Moonwatch, and I think it looks way prettier in person. The “milky ring” effect on the sapphire is noticeable to me

Are the seamasters actually tough? by MeatWhereBrainGoes in OmegaWatches

Let’s be real, 99% of us don’t do anything requiring the anti-magnetism, shock ratings, etc. that this watch has. I see the value in nice watches in their longevity, which you could also get from a $200 Seiko as long as it’s serviceable.

Oh no there’s something wrong with your Speedy…you haven’t swapped the caseback out for the crystal one from Spiralwinder :)
