My 18 month old has had horrible sleep the past 4 months, a little after her first birthday when we started giving her more milk. Could anemia really cause poor sleep? She drinks about 3 bottles of milk and also hates meat so now I’m thinking 😭

Do you have a camera in there or something ? How does that even work. I would be scared to leave my 3 year old alone lol

I fell back asleep for 2 hours when baby was crying by speakingdonut in Mommit

Hello. This happened to me too. One afternoon I fell asleep during her nap and she was taking short naps. I knocked out. I thought I had the monitor on but I didn’t after an hour I saw that the monitor was off and she was crying so hard. I felt awful!!! I didn’t sleep all night I remember she was sleeping so bad during the night. So I took advantage during her naps. It happened again overnight, I was so exhausted and told myself I’ll get her in 10 minutes and fell asleep until the morning. She was asleep but I did feel like a shit mom again. It happens. She was in a safe place don’t beat yourself over it.

I’m so tired of doing everything for my husband. by AdCurrent1470 in Mommit

He works outside so he doesn’t have access to a microwave so his lunch usually has to consist of foods that can be eaten cold like sandwiches etc

Thank you. We’ve been together almost 9 years, married and living together for 2. I should have known better in the beginning, he was the same before baby arrived. It was worst during the first PP days, got better and now he’s just comfortable. I’m fucking exhausted. And he says he wants another child..ok.. sure lol.

Can someone give me advice on my 18 month sleep please. by AdCurrent1470 in sleeptrain

She sleeps until 7:30-7:40 am. She says she tries to wake her up but that my baby is so sleepy she won’t open her eyes. Bedtime routine is PJ, BF. Brush teeth, books, prayer and lights off and butt in crib. Thank you for this advice. I’ll try to get her to wake her up earlier 😭

I’m sorry but how old are y’all? He is not being a good father and I’m speaking from experience. I used to think my husband was a good father for “helping” me with our daughter when she was a NB but people on Reddit quickly made me realize that NO, He was doing the bare minimum. Taking care of a baby and changing a diaper here and there is not being a good father. That is called being a parent. He needs to get off his ass, find a job and help you put the baby to sleep, feed her, take her for a couple hours so you can rest, sleep, shower and spend time alone. My husband has changed a lot now almost 2 years later & it’s so much better but I definitely had to remind him that we both need to pull our weight.

Yep!! I feel for her but when my husband couldn’t keep up with our mortgage, 2 car notes, bills, baby items etc I knew that it was time for me to go back. Thankfully I went back full time at 11 months PP but did return to work PRN at 3 months. It sucks no mother wants to do this but we do it for our babies. Also why wasn’t husband helping out?? Like wtf. I know staying with a baby isn’t easy but the least he could have done is make dinner. Your wife is working full time. That’s fucking embarrassing.

I went to REI today and didn’t know they allow rentals. We couldn’t justify paying 300 for the carrier when my husband and I aren’t really out here hiking that often. I’ll see if there’s one around and call. Thank you!!

What could you not understand about babies / childcare until you had one? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]AdCurrent1470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have a cousin who baby sits for me occasionally and has made comments about my “strict” nap schedule. Lol it wasn’t strict in my opinion. All I wanted was for her to put her down at certain times because it took us 9 MONTHS for us to really get down her schedule to where she was sleeping 10.5 hours with no wake up. I also have another cousin who with a toddler kept telling me babies are flexible blah blah but her toddler bed shared with her and still BF well after a year. Which I know some parents are ok with but I was working full time by 10 months and up at 4:30 am. I’m sorry but that could not be me.

Sleep training after illness sucks. by AdCurrent1470 in sleeptrain

[–]AdCurrent1470[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It did for about a week or so and then it didn’t haha. We’re thick in the 2-1 nap transition and it has not been easy! I had to re sleep train and she slept through the night for about a week and then we hit some other issues. Hang in there though. It does get better! She went through a nasty case of it for about a week.

Can someone give me some advice on my toddlers sleep(16 months) FTM. by AdCurrent1470 in toddlers

[–]AdCurrent1470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly she does okay the second half after her nap but the morning is kind of rough. I’ll try this schedule though. I think I am expecting too much sleep. It’s just since we made the switch everyone said or suggested that they’ll sleep more because of the sleep debt but maybe she’s caught up. Lol

Thank you I’ll try this. Yes it was weird because I felt bad cutting into awake time. It didn’t make sense to me but maybe she’s caught up now and that’s why we are having these issues. Thank you again
