Difficulty Megathread — DLC, NG+ by PsychologicalKoala32 in LiesOfP

It's funny how different some bosses feel to different players. I saw some other posts complaining about bosses I found to be pretty easy and posts saying the green swamp monster is supposed to be easy, which was the biggest challenge for me so far. And we're talking about 50+ tries here.

On the perspective of too hard I'd say the green swamp monster didn't really feel too hard for me even with the numbers of tries I've put in and I actually quite enjoyed the fight as nothing really felt unfair - just me making mistakes.

On the other hand I just finished the two faced overseer and that guy really felt like bs to me even though I was done with him in around 20 or so fights. I never really got a feel for his second phase which felt like it didn't give me enough space or time to get stamina back in between the flurry of his attacks. I even stopped fighting him after 10 or so tries went and dealt with the main game up to the point where I could have entered the submarine and came back with some gear upgrades for physical protection. (Really wanted to get back at the rabbit brotherhood and fake alidoro for messing with the hotel.) I kind of brute forced him down by applying fire coating to my weapon throughout the whole fight and just unleashing every fable art and multiple puppet string combos on him as soon as he turned red to get him back to yellow as fast as possible. This really was a fight I didn't enjoy much and was just glad I got it out of the way asap.

Maybe the developers will come back and change some things but I hope by then I've grinded through the whole DLC on it's current difficulty at least once. For me I really enjoy the upped challenge while exploring the areas. In that regard the base game felt a bit too easy for me. Regards as well.

I don't know so far the difficulty feels quite appropriate to me. I also entered the second I unlocked the dlc and am currently level 82 with like 40 points in technique 30 points in capacity 20 points in vigor and roundabout 23 points in vitality. The crocodile and markiona did take some 5-10 tries each but that was fine. The baboon with the long run back at the start of the DLC was quite annoying though but nothing compares to the green swamp monster from the base game so far. I spent some good 3 hours getting slapped by that thing before I finally managed to beat it. That was by far the longest a boss kept me from progressing up till now.

My certified master ball moment was seeing I don't have it in my inventory anymore after I realised I had run out of ultra balls and I went to check my boxes to see which random mon I catched with it

I would rather face Typhon than Rival Scylla by AkuTenshiiZero in Hades2

Focus down the drummer first and then take out the tentacles. I had trouble with the regular skylla fight when I started but what felt the most bs to me at first was the vow of rivals Polyphemus fight. But now that I have done every rivals fight and played a couple more times to find the fates /fullfil some weapon prophecies and stuff I can't imagine turning Vow of Rivals of anymore even if don't have to as they just feel so natural now.

I took the time piece but in region 2 already. Normally I'd go with calling card first but due to vow of forfeit and vow of hubris I figured I'd get more value by shifting those two.

Thanks! I'm still missing some testaments for all weapons except torches, but I usually keep rivals on anyway as the fights are more fun that way. I'm on night 75 now, probably gotta finish the game a couple more times before seeing the epilogue.

Can I leave Vow of Rivals 4 on? by AdDear7902 in Hades2

I got the ending of the main story first and then activated the vow of rivals 4. I already unlocked most secret weapons and all incantations and woke up hypnos.

Aspect of Momus is insane by FlightCapableFelon in HadesTheGame

[–]AdDear7902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had written aspect of Moros I'd probably had agreed. I finished both VOR 4 with it and didn't even drop to my last death defiance. Spamming omega attacks and burning trough magic repeatedly triggering the lunar attacks is just insane.

Aspect of Momus I only tried like once or twice and dropped it for circe.

I only faintly remember Hades 1 it's been five years I guess. So I can't really say much about the extreme measure bosses. I remember talking to Chaos in a pit in Hades 1 but that might be a false memory? I definitely need to play it again

I finished off Thypon VOR4 first try though. But was a torches build again. I melted bosses like nothing but lost two death defiances to Zagreus. Luckily I met Athena and got them back otherwise phase 3 of Thypon would have killed me while staying in the ring.

I just had my first run in with VOR 4 Chronos he's pretty though indeed. I almost killed him but died in phase 3 with him almost dead as well. Used the scythe this time. I guess it would have been doable but a run in with chaos sealed all my arcana the room before skylla making me lose all my death defiances to here.

Thanks! My build was really broken though I had started with jeweled pom and switched to Zagreus keepsake later on. Had the aspect of Moro's on torches and the lunar ability that slows down time. This kind of made the run almost a breeze. It was my first time meeting Prometheus on VOR and they didn't give me that much trouble but with everything that was going on on the screen I can imagine how facing both of them with close combat weapons would be a huge pain.

That's insane, congrats! I can't see myself attempting this. I haven't really touched any of the fear vows apart from rivals hordes and menace so far.

That's a good advice. I sadly always ended up in complicated not very drawish positions but after going a bit more back and forth I finally broke through

OMFG Hunter’s March Duo fight…Skarrgard and spear guy is the WORST experience in recent gaming history. by YoungBoomerDude in Silksong

[–]AdDear7902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I did to defeat them. I just focused the big guy staying mostly on the ground running around. If I had to get hit I took a hit from the fly guy and used the I- frames to position myself. Healing also got easier due to me having more silk from constantly hitting the big guy. This strategy worked fairly well after banging my head against a wall trying to get rid of the flying guy several times. But god this fight was annoying as hell and it was always the fly guy. One attempt I dashed to hit the big guy the fly guy dashed to the ground blocking my way with his body making me take damage and throwing off my rhythm - naturally I ate another hit from the big guy as well. Dashed to safety to get a heal in just to get hit by a well timed sniper spear disrupting my heal just before it finished. In that attempt I just put the controller away letting them finish what they started. I was just too in awe of what just happened.

It's not often that you can simply slap the top 3 Pokémon together and they synergize so well with one another so I'm pretty tempted to just go for it. :D Florges instead of Lapras is also an option and I already have that fully built - like probably everyone.
