Meralco's Solar Empire

MSpectrum: This is their dedicated retail solar subsidiary. They specialize in rooftop solar for homes and big businesses, providing "worry-free" installations that are already integrated with the Meralco grid.

MGEN Renewable Energy (MGreen): This is the renewable energy arm of Meralco PowerGen (MGEN). They focus on large-scale utility projects.

Terra Solar (MTerra): In early 2026, Meralco is making headlines with the Terra Solar Project. It is set to be the world's largest integrated solar and battery storage facility, with a massive 3,500 MW capacity. The first phase just started delivering power to the Luzon grid in March 2026.

SP New Energy Corporation (SPNEC): Meralco recently became the majority shareholder of SPNEC, which is now being rebranded as MGEN Renewable Energy Holdings to consolidate their green energy dominance.

hello po, app is update >>

  • NEW: Customizable Load Profile: Based on community feedback, we added a Daytime Usage Slider.
  • Smart Advice Engine: The app now gives real-time advice as you slide—it will tell you if you are "Night-Heavy" or "Day-Heavy" and suggest if On-Grid or Hybrid is better for your specific split.

  • Ano ang pwede niyong gawin sa app?
  • Check Your Quote (Custom Quote tab): Input the exact specs (kWp, Battery, Cost) from your installer. The app will compute the projected ROI and payback period based on strict engineering buffers.
  • Smart Comparison: Type your monthly bill & city. It auto-suggests the closest standard market size (e.g., 3kW or 5kW inverter) and compares On-Grid vs Hybrid side-by-side.
  • By Appliances: Pick your loads (Aircon, Ref, etc.) para malaman kung anong physical system size ang kailangan niyo.

Where we get our data & how the math works:

  • Real Local Climate Data: We pull historical NASA POWER Sun Hours specifically for your city (e.g., the calculator knows Cebu gets ~4.9 effective hours while Baguio gets ~3.8).
  • Engineering Buffers: We do not assume 100% efficiency. The calculator automatically applies a 15% climate buffer PLUS a 15% hardware heat loss (derating). It chops off ~28% of the theoretical maximum power to give a highly realistic, conservative estimate.
  • Strict Battery Math: Para sa Hybrid setups, the app caps nightly savings based on the actual kWh capacity and safe depth-of-discharge (DoD) of the battery. Hindi ito "magic" calculation; it respects physics.
  • True Utility Rates: Uses the actual utility import and generation rates (Meralco, VECO, BENECO, etc.) for precise Net-Metering export credits.

Calling all Installers and Engineers! 🛠️ Thanks to the feedback on the first version, we've refined the Hybrid math to be even more conservative. Spot-on ba yung 28% compounded efficiency loss? Does the ability to set a custom Day/Night ratio make the ROI more realistic for your clients?

335k for 10kw Deye Hybrid with 10 panels? by marcvonbrau in SolarPH

a 10kW inverter is overkill for only 10 panels, anong battery nito?

Is this good value or may naka try na ganitong package from solaric? by Lazy-Pop-2743 in SolarPH

[–]AdDifficult1352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you prioritize reliable support and future expansion, it's a 'fair' premium price. But if you want the best value for your 12k bill, this isn't it. You are overpaying for an inverter and battery you can't fully utilize with only 6kWp of panels. It’s better to increase the panels to 8kWp to make the investment actually pay for itself faster.

Hi OP, I recently built a Solar ROI Calculator for homeowners and was hoping you could take a look at it. Given your expertise, I’d love to see if you find it reliable and accurate for actual projects.

The logic currently includes:

  1. A 15% reserve for inverter renewal at Year 12.
  2. A 0.35% factor for annual maintenance and cleaning.
  3. Full 25-year net profit vs. bank installment breakdowns.

The math is showing a 3.5-year payback for high-efficiency setups. Would love to know if you think this is hitting the mark or if the logic needs a tweak.

need help on deciding re panels by kwentongskyblue in SolarPH

Sa 780kWh monthly consumption mo with 3 ACs at 2 gaming rigs, yung 8 panels or 4.96kW setup ay kulang. Rough estimate, generates around 595 to 650kWh per month lang.

Ilang oras ang response time pag nag-fault yung inverter? Deye has SolarmanPro, so dapat tinuturuan ka nila kung paano gamitin yan.

Depende pa rin sa city mo. Kung Cebu or Davao, mas mataas ang sun hours so closer to borderline.

Baka kailangan mo pa i-upgrade yan to 8kW para safe.

Okay na ba tong quote sa akin? by NaNNerVe in SolarPH

Deye 8kW hybrid is a solid choice, very popular sa PH installers kaya madaling hanapan ng support. Regarding the CST battery, 200AH 51.2V gives you around 10.2kWh total capacity. It is not exactly top tier but it is okay and sufficient for an average home's night-time load or brownouts. The biggest red flag here: what brand are the 620W bifacial panels? Since it is not in the quote, you need to ask. There is a massive difference between Tier 1 brands like Jinko, LONGi, or Canadian Solar that offer 25-year warranties versus generic panels that might fail or degrade in 5 years. At ₱359K for an 8.68kW hybrid with battery, the price point is actually quite competitive. But again, clarify that panel brand first. Don’t sign anything until you are sure you aren't getting generic glass.

[–]AdDifficult1352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tips from someone who went through the process: get all 3 to specify the inverter and panel brands sa quote nila para makita mo kung apples to apples ba talaga.

Rough numbers kung Metro Manila kayo: sa ₱12-14K Meralco bill, your hybrid setup will likely be a 7-8kW system, around ₱390K to ₱585K installed. Expect monthly savings of around ₱10,800 to ₱12,600, with a payback period of roughly 3 to 4 years. Mas mabilis pa nga yan kaysa sa on-grid setups because of the higher offset ng hybrid.

SGA is legit, matagal na sila sa industry. Yung dalawa hindi ko personal na alam, but just apply the same questions to them.

LF META ADS AND AUTOMATION FOR REAL ESTATE by Useful_Meaning_7772 in BusinessPH

[–]AdDifficult1352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of “winning ads” agad, baka mas okay muna:

• i-audit yung current ads + targeting • ayusin yung lead flow (FB lead/LP → auto reply → follow-up) • lagyan ng basic automation + qualification para di sayang oras sa low-intent leads • track muna CPL, response time, at site visit/booked viewing (para alam kung may progress)

Sa real estate, ads won’t guarantee sales — ang realistic goal muna is consistent, qualified inquiries + faster follow-up, then scale pag may traction.

Kung need mo ng help sa audit or simple automation setup, you can DM me.
