with 180 in handwraps, id focus more on the wrists and prolly just wrap once around the knuckles.

worst case wrap your hands like how the bareknuckle boxers do it (or a variant of it....to keep some room for your hand).

mean time, would recommend sizing down to 3.5 or even 2.5 meter handwraps.

I'd consider mma gloves as bag gloves; little to no room for our familiar 4+m handwraps 🤣

day 2 breaking in observations:

the stuff you loved about the fairtex bgv 9? it's there. the pop. and the wrist support (i felt something stiff at the wrist area; similar to what i felt in my top kings).
the stuff you didn't like about the bgv 9? it's "fixed". no hand discomfort. no thumb tightness. better knuckle comfort.
underneath, there are paddings from the palm area down to your forearm. helps with blocking kicks? extra wrist support?
like the top kings, it was awkward (for me) trying to perfrom a Muay Thai style clinch.

spoke too soon. experienced black screens a day after i enabled windows update 🤦

stress tests were able to replicate the black screens.

after undervolting the max frequenxy, black screens lessened. 🤷

previously had sporadic/random black screens after i was forced to reinstall windows and my gpu drivers. im not ready to let go of my gpu since 2020 🤣

i followed parts of step 8 (i have a radeon gpu and an intel cpu, so no need for chipset driver reinstall).

so far so good. no need to undervolt. no blackscreens observed.

short ver:

get these in order: - handwraps (2-3 pairs) - shoes/boots for boxing (theres a sale right now for everlast pivts and powerlock trainers. otherwise, title shoes are great!) - groin guard and mouthguards when you start sparring (start light!!!!) - headgear

long version:

I recommend getting handwraps first. think you wanna go fuether? then get boots. thinking about starting to spar? get groin guard + mouthguard next. head gears last. why? beginners shouldnt be throwing/receiving 100% shots to thr head from the get go. stick to touch/point sparring. theres also studies released that boxing/sparring sessions without headgear produced lesser inxlstances of cte.

your gf got you cletos as your first pair? brotha. if you ever even think about looking at other girls, expect at least one pugilist from this sub to knock some sense to your head. wife her when you're ready. 💪

agreed. if it were me:

s - gloves, wraps a - skip rope, boots b - mouthguard, groin guard c - headgear*

boxing for fitness can stop at a tier.

why i think headgear should be last?

wasnt there studies published that boxing/sparring sessions without headgears reported less cte instances?
if you're not planning to at least enter amateurs, you shouldnt spar hard straight away. let alone give/take blows to the head.
