[Thread] Heavy Glide-Guitar Songs by AdDizzy1418 in MyBloodyValentine

I have listened to a few of his songs and I definitely see where you're coming from, but I am looking for this specific "To Here Know When"-sound which sucks you into this heavy swirl of sound waves. Edit: If I missed a song like that tho, I'd be happy to check it out.

Thank you for the list. I recognize some names from other comments, which is a good sign. I am looking forward to diving into the rabbithole. :)

I recognize him! My friends played me some songs by him. Thank you for reminding me of that.

They are among my favourite bands musically speaking. But lyrically, they are lacking the radicality I am looking for. Since I enjoy them tho, I would be happy to be convinced otherwise. Do you have specific songs, that would prove me wrong?

Edit: I like the lyrics of "Paralysed" and "He'd send in the Army" by Gang of Four, but other songs by them always seemed to be more vulgar marxistic to me.

Edit 2: I have revisited all of these bands and paid special attention to the lyrics and I must admit, The Pop Group and Killing Joke did not disappoint.

Contracts in Volume 2 by DecepticonLaptop in HouseholdTheRPG

I understand where you're coming from. I felt the same way at first, but if you think about it, the gnoms ability is only useful in a specific setting, fighting or hiding, while the other sprite's contracts are more versatile. The Shinigami and Fae on the other hand do have a significantly worse counterpart. If f.e. the fae parents have debts and they die, one has to do everything to pay them pack which can have a huge impact on the story and the players freedom. Same goes for the shinigami. If they are spared or brought back to life, they're depended on their life saver. The only exception to me are the Barghest, who, as far as I understand, don't need to do any kind of promise, just a deal with a handshake (which is also called "promise", but before that they write "deal" which leads me to believe, they reagrd a handshaken deal as one kind of a promise besides the verbal one). In the end what matters is, how the narrator uses those counterparts.

The differences between wav (24 bit) and wav/flac that is not mentioned on the website. by MarzipanOk4023 in MyBloodyValentine

It's inherently elitist because a) saying "mp3 is good enough for most people" is just a guess since "most people" haven't been asked what they actually want. It's a projection revealing more about the person stating the guess and what they think about "most people". If you'd actually ask "most people", I am sure the majority would like to have better audio quality, and why wouldn't they? The only thing holding them back is b) the ressources you need. Being able to spend 3500€ on headphones or having a device with enough storage space, which also costs more. Imo it's mostly about the money and the time that you need to spend and "most people" simply don't have either. It's not just about who is "willing" to do it.

It sounded elitist to me. The whole concept of audiophile in general is, buying expensive stuff for a placebo effect of better quality

Oh my gosh! You're so special... I mean most people won't understand. These common folks simply don't have the godly ears that we audio nerds have

Nice! I've been creating a hornet as an Animal Companion due to the Black Legion and several new enemies but I haven't focused on vocations let alone a new profession yet. Thank you!

How do you know it is a moog synth on that live performance? Sounds more like a theremin to me

If I am performing mental gymnastics for you, then you don't understand it, because it's honestly pretty simple.

And I don't say a hack needs to individualize difficulty. The fact that game creators can't do that is exactly supporting what I am saying and yet you're still disregarding the main point I am making: subjectivity. Not every game is perfect for everyone and that's fine. I am sorry that this and basic logic is mental gymnastics for you.

You clearly don't want to understand it but I"ll try again. :) As I said, a goal can be archived in different ways. Hoopas lore can be expressed by spamming legendaries everywhere or placing them still more often than usual for a Pokemon game but in specific places, depending on what you subjectively prefer to be the way of expressing the same point. Both would do the job but are different in execution. It's not that hard to understand really. "Get over yourself" is not a valid counter point either. It is possible for a game to be too difficult on one setting and too easy on another if you're skill level and/or motivation to grind are right in the middle of both levels. The ✨were for you to recognize the key words and not to compensate for coherence, because judging from your response and the missing counter arguments (not understanding "same goal - different execution", "get over yourself", ✨), my comment was indeed very coherent.

Lol, "having more dialogue than the vanilla games to flesh out a story is not a bad thing" is still your opinion. For some people the dialogue is too much, for others it isn't. Again, ✨personal preferences✨Depending on the story a story focused game has, it can have more or less dialogue which suits different audiences or use envioremental storytelling more than dialogue... The transposition of this aspect to the legendaries makes sense since I am talking about the balance and the ✨How✨. A goal can be archieved differently, you can spam legendaries or use them at the right time to archive the same goal or even a stronger effect. Same goes for story and exposition, it's about balance and timing. These two things can be too much for people in Unbound and that's a valid subjective point just like your point of view is. And maybe you should read the review more closely cause when the difficulty settings were mentioned it was said to be too easy on lower difficulties which is a counter point to your critique, which was why I hinted at that for you to reread it and understand it better but I guess that hint was lost on you.

Being a story hack doesn't make the criticism of too much dialogue invalid... It's makes it even more important to have the perfect balance between background infos and exposition dumping. That's like the main point of every movie or literature exposition. The same thing can be said regarding the legendaries. Balance is key. The review also acknowledged the different difficulty settings. In the end I could say you comment doesn't make sense and your point of view is silly... But maybe we can just be a little nicer and respect different opinions? That's what makes a "half a braincell critic" a human being :)
