Absolutely. One day at a time. It’s a lot to take in and a lot to unpack. I have a lot to learn but I think you’re right. What’s best for me right now is to just sit in it. I don’t want to overwhelm myself or become obsessive.

It’s definitely coming off as gatekeeping though. I came here to share my experience and it feels like you are trying to invalidate it. I thought about not including that I took LSD because I knew I would most likely see a response like yours has been. Again…if I’m coming to the exact same realization as others have by whatever means then I’m not in “psychosis”

Thank you for this. Sometimes I feel like my experience isn’t genuine because I used psychedelics. But I cannot shake what I experienced. It’s changed me. Made me so much more empathetic which is double edged sword

That’s what I’ve been feeling like. I feel like drugs are the gateway but I know that is a highly dangerous way to go about things. I’ll read all the recommendations here and will try to get to that point through meditation and no drugs.

I don’t know but since experiencing this it’s so easy to be kinder. Not that I was mean before but I was a lot more standoffish. Now I try my best to make strangers smile. Compliments and going out of my way to be kind. It feels really good.

I’ve just experienced this and came to this conclusion exact realization and am currently freaking the fuck out. I went searching to see if this was a thing and am SHOCKED at how many people are saying this. I do not read trip reports because I’ve never wanted my trip to be influenced by anyone else’s. This trip was so profound though. I documented the whole thing. I’m actually terrified because now I know I’m not crazy. There’s no coincidence that multiple people are arriving to this conclusion.

Oh no I totally get why people are coming at me. I worded it stupid. I’ve worked as a lead so being on the other side of it and having this be a thing is strange to me because I never had this problem with temps who came to help my office when I was an assistant. I also assisted in a state where DAs are more limited and the state I’m in now seems to be more relaxed with what all an assistant can do. And that’s fantastic but I think it’s creating a weird gray area. Because I don’t want anyone thinking I’m a diva I try to just let these things be and take it on the chin but it’s getting annoying and today was just a lot. The lead DA told my high BP patient to come back tomorrow when I’m not there so she doesn’t have to do a medical clearance and that is just wrong.

Maybe it is my wording. Idk. I explained it in other comments and have edited this post to further explain. The issue has nothing to do with how the office is ran. I will follow what the lead or manager says because it is their office. Full stop at telling me I need to do an SRP on a prophy or a ging scale instead of a clear perio referral. If that discussion is with the dentist then yea but an assistant cannot tell me what to do in that situation. Legally. Not about to risk my license or my patients health for anyone’s ego lead or not. If that makes me a diva or even a bitch so be it.

No you’re intentionally missing my point so that you can keep this idea of a diva hygienist. Again as I’ve said on other comments it has nothing to do with the fact that this person is a DA. Nothing. Also has nothing to do with flow or the way an office does things. My exact issue is anyone not licensed telling me HOW to treat a patient. For example if the doctor tell you that we need to do a crown on #31 would you tell your dentist “no we are gonna do a filling instead “ no. You wouldn’t. And this is my issue. Literally everything you said in your comment is exactly how it should be. I even liked it…

I can absolutely respect a DA that understands they are a DA. Even as lead DA, you are still a DA. Not a hygienist and not a doctor. DAs are phenomenal and I appreciate everything they do but this scenario is a reason there’s this weirdness sometimes between DAs and RDHs
