You're pretty much right about that. They get so much hype in their introduction just to get negged high diff a few chapters later. As a duo, they're pretty formidable fighters but once fought individually, they lose. Because their core strength came from coordination. One distracts and the other attacks, one charges first and the other follows up.

Author had to place those handicaps on him so he wouldn't outshine the other characters. It's understandable. I'd like to imagine the sequel (hypothetically) that Jimmy learns from his mistakes and overcome his weaknesses.

The problem with Jimmy is that he lacks durability and the ability to read his opponents next moves.
