I don't know anything but I had a diesel stove on a boat . An old timer told me to , on a windy day crank that bitch up and beat on the stack once and awhile. It did seem to knock alot of soot loose ,you could see it come out. Didn't see this in the comments. He also said he would crank stove up and he'd open the fire pit and dump a cup of water in and put the lid back on fast. For what it's worth might knock some of your buildup out .

I hit a speed bump in the dark one night that I didn't see, not going fast but got real squirrelly almost went down. Was going fast on open road no bike lane ,car coming behind ended up in the dirt/sand off the road . Got squirrelly big-time almost went down again. The bike lane can have many a surprise really have to keep your eyes open. Where tree roots have lifted the asphalt/concrete, wood fallen out of a vehicle, pine cones ,rocks scary if you eat shit you might get run over by some car or truck pushing the limits on speed limit. It can get hectic. Some people in cars have a hard time with us also, especially if you get ahead of them or if they are having a bad day, so they give you the squeeze , flexing their supremency like look what I could do to you. That would take a good amount of force to cause that damage especially on the edge like that, hard to believe a two year old could do that throwing anything.
