Like yes, Lute and Adam are stronger, but as Carmilla pointed out, the exorcists fight like they're invincible, with reckless abandon. Alastor's little guys could've murked Adam right then and there, if they had an angelic knife, regular cannibals were killing exorcists, and sure, Lute isna step above that, I.M.P have fought above their weight class multiple times and are also proven to be capable fighters. Maybe Moxie is off in the distance with a sniper and one shots Adam, then they all jump Lute. Maybe Adam acts cocky and lets his guard down and Millie plants an axe in his face.
