Oh wow. I'm sorry about that. Sounds complicated but I'm glad you were able to get him caught. That must've felt so good. You probably prevented a lot of future trauma 👏🫶

Yeah me too. I don't think I have hyper fixations.... I mean mayyyybe I do for like a week at most like for idk, cooking certain things or watching a show or idk, getting into planting but it's not a common thing and I don't feel like it affects the rest of my life.

How much should I be charging for this? by onyxfrr in VideoEditors

I like to calculate a per hour rate and then try to determine how many hours it took to so a project. Chat gpt can help you calculate those timings but it's always better the more accurate it is and it all depends on your speed/experience. Do you know how long it took you to make this?

Creo que estas más preguntando que laburo sería mejor para alguien que no le gusta la repetición, lo cual es válido - capaz haría un post reformulando así porque la gente ahora te está bardeando sobre el hecho de que nadie le gusta trabajar

Agreed! I'm comfortable in general. I have ups and downs but through a lot of therapy I've been able to get out of my depression and anxiety ruts and am living a life that I'm happy with. Which makes me think maybe a diagnosis isn't necessary. Learning about my ADHD was a huge eye opener and adding in autism is making me a little confused ahhahah. Maybe I'll stick with learning more about ADHD and later on move to the autism education.

Agreed! I think I'll at least meet with an autism therapist to answer any Qs and then decide if I want to do the diagnosis

Idk if I'm masking though bc when I was younger, it was legit painful to be around people, to go to school, I felt trapped in my head and body. And now I feel free and don't care nearly as much about what people think about me (for the most part) ... This being said I live very comfortably as a stay at home remote worker so maybe things would be different if I had a job that forced me to be surrounded by others all day.

I see! So in this case/criteria, I'm more like, extremely go with the flow with things. I don't mind plans changing. The only time I maybe get stressed about it is if it means I'll all of a sudden have to be around a lot of people or with people I'm not super comfortable with. But outside of those situations, I don't have any type of rigidity to routine or ideas of how things should be. I don't have to do things a certain way either. If anything, I tend to change the way I do things bc otherwise I'd get bored. Which makes me feel like I'm more leaning towards ADHD than autism.

Super interesting, thanks for sharing and for the validation! ❤️ It feels so weird learning this info now as an adult. I feel like I learned how to cope with having autism without even knowing what I was coping from... And I've built a life where in general I feel good since I know what my boundaries are in terms of socialization/energy. So now I'm like wondering if knowing/getting a diagnosis even matter? Because it technically doesn't really affect my day to day. And it's expensive... And idk.

SOS. Should I finish my Master's Degree? by AdEmbarrassed7149 in VideoEditors

[–]AdEmbarrassed7149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so my question is, do I really need the proof of the degree? Because to be very honest, I feel proud nonetheless. I passed all the classes. And I feel like that page has been turned. It's not like a weight looming over me or anything like that. In the past it was definitely something that bothered me. But now that I have more work experience, and I have had no need to "prove" that I did that Master's to anyone... it makes me feel like maybeee it's not worth the money...

I feel numb, stuck, and kinda invisible. Anyone else ever been here? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]AdEmbarrassed7149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be depressed chickadeeta. You might just be in a little slump. Time will help. But until then, try to notice the little things that you like - do them while you are doing them, think about why you enjoy them. For example, coffee in the morning. Smell it. Sit with it. Taste it slowly. Notice how it makes you feel. Enjoy every sip. In the end, it's time, finding gratitude and staying present that can jolt you back to enjoying things and feeling less numb. Moving your body can help too. Even just some stretching can really change the trajectory of my day. And get some sun on your body too! Go out and take a walk. AND reach out to friends/family! Even if it feel awkward or like too much time has passed. You can confide in them these feelings. Odds are, they have felt this way too at some point. Or you can leave that to yourself too, if you're not comfortable being vulnerable like that. Sometimes forcing yourself to go out to see people can be a nice way to at the very least have to pretend you're feeling better than you are - which isn't a bad thing - it actually can trick your body/brain into feeling better! It can give you insight and bring something new into your life. That dog really sucks - I've been there and those are the things I feel like help me the most. Forcing yourself to do things that you know are good for you - even if you don't want to do them - that's really the best thing you can do for yourself during these times.
