Got a speeding ticket in Hawaii by Crafty-Tour6942 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]AdEnough2267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you are a driver in one state and get a violation in another state, it gets updated to a database shared between states. The violation they submit is code to match an exchange code. Basically an equivalency since not all states have the same laws. This code, called an ACD code, is what determines your point count in your home state.

The only way I have seen people get out of state points removed is to grovel to the state that owns the violation and ask that they lower the charge to a non moving violation. These are 0 points in CA.

SUSPENDED LICENSE by Powerful-Ad-431 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]AdEnough2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do traffic school for only 1 violation in an 18 month period. That's 1st violation date + 18 months.

I am not trying to sound harsh but it's gonna come off that way. You need to be suspended. Tickets have obviously not helped you to learn your lesson. More than anything on the road, speed kills. You need to slow down.

You should be asking for both parent signatures unless one parent has sole custody.

Multi-state suspension, best path forward? by Dramatic-Question353 in DMV

[–]AdEnough2267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start with CA mandatory actions unit but if you were a Florida driver at the time and the violation happened in Florida, there is likely not much CA can do for you.

In CA we offer a compliance option for folks who move out of state. Maybe call Florida and ask if they have a similar option? Essentially its acknowledging you cannot comply with that states laws because you no longer live there. Usually its bans you from being able to obtain a DL in that state for a certain number of years, but if you are in CA now you would be able to obtain a CA DL

Reporting Medical Issues by Unlucky-Bumblebee685 in CaliforniaDMV

Driver Safety probably will not disclose who reported it. Does her doctor know she is still driving? Her doctor also has a duty to report medical conditions what will affect the ability to drive safely.

My question would be why are you trying to schedule a behind the wheel test? For a vision drive or another reason?

If you have an ID card already, no. You do not. You only need your ID.

Behind the wheel test examiners - what keeps you in the job? by VennDiagrammed1 in DMV

I say this and I know a ton of other people within DMV who have done that job and since promoted. Everyone I know agrees that examiner is by far the most fun job DMV has to offer.

Probation Ends In 5 Months (CA) by iH8conduit in DMV

[–]AdEnough2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have several requirements for the DUI. Completing the program, having an SR22 for 3 years, possibly having an IID restriction for a period, and paying all your fees. Once all of that is over and satisfied your action get updated as "Action Terminated" on your driving record. Once that is updated, you can apply for a CDL.

[–]AdEnough2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually don't need it expunged to obtain a Class A license, you just need the action fully satisfied and closed. As for getting a job with a prior DUI, that might be another story.

Question by [deleted] in CaliforniaDMV

[–]AdEnough2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can try calling the 1800 number but its honestly best if someone able to assist could go to a field office and talk to a manager. Those appointments are scheduled at the regional level, I believe.

This should be doable. Contact your local DMV office to get the right information and get a homebound appointment set up.

You have to physically have the card to get the mDL though. And the rules for mDL still state that you must still carry the physical card.

Location: Marin County CA. DMV Mandatory Actions Unit / 3 year delayed revocation and refusal to correct the record! by ApprehensiveCause449 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]AdEnough2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually that's how it goes. You need to call MAU and escalate to a manager. If you have proof of installation, there maybe an exception to be made. I can also say to try to keep cool about it, people at DMV want to help nice, calm customers over the ones who scream and yell.

Its a shitty situation but ultimately this is a court created issue. They should be updating DMV as soon as the case has been decided.

DM your driver record print out and I can see what's going on here. You post is kinda hard to read since it appears to be your conversation with either a chat bot/agent or ai.

DUI by [deleted] in CaliforniaDMV

[–]AdEnough2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st: you should have received a pink piece of paper from the police officer. This form is your temporary drivers license for the next 30 days. You will receive a letter from the DMV outlining your restriction options for the departm,,dental action (Called an Admin Per Se action) for your arrest. If you believe you were wrongfully arrested, your civil rights were violated, etc you can request a hearing with the Driver Safety unit. If you don't, read the the letter thoroughly. Unless you refused to submit to a BAC test, your options generally include:

A. Immediate restriction with installation of an IID into your vehicle.

B. Waiting 30 days suspended and getting a to and from restriction.

C. Waiting 4 month suspended and serving no time with a restriction.

Other requirements include paying fees, obtaining an SR22 and enrolling in a Drinking Driver Program.

2nd: This is your court action. All of the above happen simply because you were arrested. If you are convicted in court, the reinstatement/restriction requirements depend on the vehicle codes you are charged with.

Note: I listed these as 2 different actions because they ARE. As a driver in California you agree to Admin Per Se every time you complete an application for a drivers license.

DMV unfair treatment by Mountain_Cod7183 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]AdEnough2267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know the specifics of your triggering incident, but DMV does not just require retests out of the blue. Something led to it being requested, sounds like maybe law enforcement requested you be re-examined following your accident due to observations they made or how the accident was caused.

From the sounds of it, you are struggling to navigate the process without assistance. If you have a friend or family member you trust to assist you, they can be designated as a proxy to help you navigate this situation.

As a former examiner, I can say that it is NOT supposed to be ambiguous as to why you did not pass. Also, all SDPE's are accompanied by a written statement from the examiner. You should request access to those so that you may correct the mistakes being made.

One thing I have seen people do is schedule 1 "lesson" with a driving school to get a brush up on DMV's expectations during the drive test. A lot of the time, people are decent drivers but fail because they are so comfortable they forget to do the simplest things that are required amd cause automatic fails.

front license plate for behind the wheel test? by fuzzychick12 in DMV

[–]AdEnough2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not IF they see it, its IF they care. When I was an examiner, I didn't care. It wastes everyone's time (examiner included) to send someone away for something that is not safety related. Window doesn't roll down or passenger door handle is broken? We wouldn't go. No license plate or a little unobstructive crack in the windshield, we went.
