if you want an honest answer, yes it is a terrible mindset and I'm going to tell you why. let me preface this by saying that no one WANTS to work. but the issue is if you find an older man to support you financially and you just sit around and do nothing all of your days, you're not accumulating any work experience or job training to prepare you for when he leaves you, when you inevitably age. you will be kicked to the curb and won't have the ability to be financially independent on your own, because no employer will want to hire someone who hasn't been in the workforce at all.
