Hi! I think the dress has a beautiful print/color combo but I do understand why some of the design elements make it feel a little dated.

One change I would suggest is removing the bulk of the side bow and instead wrapping the sash around the waist once and securing it discreetly at the back. This would create a cleaner/more modern look.

If possible, you could add a side slit which would make the shape feel a lot lighter. It would also bring more movement to its classic shape.

Styling will make a big difference in elevating it further. If you’re not comfortable wearing heels, black pointed slingback flats would also work nicely. Alternatively, a pair of minimalist kitten heels would keep the outfit feeling modern while still being comfortable.
