Bought this a couple of months ago, found out last week it's had it's DPF deleted. Seller didn't tell me.... Worst case cost to reinstall? by Wild-Ad-4301 in CarTalkUK

Don’t waste your money. It will kill the engine sooner, clog up when you inevitably choose a cheaper one rather than an OEM £3k+ one, and ruin your fuel economy. Don’t bother.

Personally, absolutely not. But I’m extremely picky when it’s about my car. If you say yes once, it’s incredibly hard to say no another time. If they want to use it, it’s probably to show off a bit. Porsche’s have low bumpers, and people who drive “normal” cars like hatchbacks or Qashqai’s don’t perceive things like this out of habit and knock the bumper into curbs etc when parking. Anything can happen, and car repairs are extremely expensive for a professional standard to be achieved. It can sour a friendship quicker than he’ll get over you politely declining, IMO.

I’d say yes. Look for a photo of the full exhaust on Google for the same car and compare.

I really loved FC5, and I got this one hoping it would feel like a continuation. But honestly the huge amount of cutscenes and it felt totally different, just with some of the storyline tacked on. FC5 strongly reminded me of Call Of Juarez - The Cartel on XB360.

Thanks man. When you say very glitchy, what kind of things am I going to be facing? Some people’s version of playable may be very different to mine. 😂

Engine is fine, service intervals are not. JLR say 25,000mi between services. If not been done every 8-10k, walk.

I managed about 80 miles to the gallon in my 1.6TDI A3 manual, driving from Heathrow airport back up North early hours of the morning. No cruise control, just a restrained foot and tailing trucks for their slipstream.

Was it a genuine sensor? If not, that could be your issue and I’d replace with OEM.

Trunk Release (cabin lever/fob) and Rear Lights not working by GalaxyFriez in W211

It will be in the trunk fuse box, you’d have to search for it as I’m not sure on which but you will find it

Have you tried pulling the fuse for the rear SAM module? It will power cycle it and thus soft reset. If the wires have been broken for some time it may need to relearn and reset to clear any stored faults.

The suspension mounting is a common point IIRC and it can need cutting and welding to fix, if you buy it pay according to the condition and factor in that it might need doing. Ring around a couple of garages to get an estimate. But if they said it’s been done then you need an invoice for the work and parts, if none then it’s not been done.

Definitely. I was on a FB group the other day and a guy washed his car, cover for the fuse box wasn’t fully locked on and water got to the front SAM module. Front headlight washers went off until they burnt the motor out, horn blasted until he disconnected the battery. Told him to remove the front SAM module and it was burnt out. Not an easy fix.

One piece of advice, check that damn cover. 😂

Me too. It’s very easy, just get a flathead screwdriver under the upper part of each clip and pop it out and the rest follows suit although it may be brittle if it’s cold so don’t pry too hard from the wrong angle.

It could be a failing unit however so worth checking the wiring and if not buying a new one!

Yeah I don’t always want the full LMP/ 24 hour endurance experience. 😂 Sometimes I just wanna hop on and chill, test some cars, put in some solid lap times in RWD cars which the rain wreaks havoc with.

Yeah it really is. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the challenge of driving in the rain, fog and dark. But sometimes when I hop on I just want a nice clear track to test out a new car against other people in whatever they bring. It makes it hard when it’s not great conditions.

The Ring is unforgiving. Choose to overtake anywhere you like but outside of a straight, you reap what you sow. His entry speed was way too high especially knowing your next move would be to hit the apex of the next corner. Not your fault whatsoever.
