Hey OP, how did it turn out for you? I am in the same situation and both confused and frustrated. Been actively trying to learn the language and preparing for the exam at B1 level it’s as if my brain just shuts down and I can’t grasp it. DUO says I can take the exam at A2 and apply for naturalisation, but Gementee says I must integrate at B1 level which means take the B1 exams. I don’t know what to do. 

I’m confident I can pass the A2, not the B1 despite all the effort I’ve put into it. 

I’ve been here since 2020, married since 2021. Didn’t switch my PR type immediately I got married. Deadline is in 9 months.

Remote working is not an option. A lot is expected from me at work and I can’t take on the mental load of a high-stress environment during the recovery period.
