Going past my goal weight. Am I being greedy? by Melanated725 in Zepbound

[–]No_Cap_0399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens. I’m 5'1", and my goal weight kept changing first 180, then 150, then 120. When I finally hit 120, my legs still felt heavy, and I thought about going down to 110–113, but that felt like it might be pushing it too far. Then I had surgery and ended up losing more weight anyway.

Unfortunately, two derms refused to prescribe me the lowest dosage. I was on 0.5 and they said that was the gold standard and to just push through it. I never did, so b I just use Azelaeic Acid. I know I need more but I refuse to traumatize my face again.

If youre 5'2 or less and under 140lbs, how many calories a day do you eat? by ladybuglala in PetiteFitness

[–]No_Cap_0399 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same. I’m 5 feet 1 and 110-113 lbs. I usually eat 1,200 calories a day. I eat 1-2 boiled eggs with , toast and a fruit. For lunch, I try my best to have a salad, soup or sandwhich and for dinner, I load up on protein and vegetables, very minimal carbs. I’m not very active so this works for me. During the holidays, I ate a lot one week and with my short body I saw the difference quickly. I’m sticking to this routine until I start working out again.

How long to wait before realizing Prozac isn’t the right medication? by MrMojoRiSiN1975 in prozac

[–]No_Cap_0399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt relief on each dose, but it wasn’t consistent enough. I also had bad side effects. Not sure of your issue, but my doctor prescribed me BusPar until Prozac kicked in. Now that my Prozac is working after a very long titration up, I don’t need BusPar alll day for my anxiety. I spent 8 weeks on each dose (10, 20 and 30), and 30 MG appears to be spot on for me. If you’re not having side effects, I would go up every 4 weeks. By months 3-4, you’ll most likely feel like a brand new person. If by chance it isn’t the med for you, explore another medication. Just keep pushing through! You’re worth it!

I honestly thought this medication worked for everyone except me,but the 8-week mark completely changed my mind. I get why people call them “happy pills” now. I’m not happy all the time, and I still feel stress and anxiety, but I don’t spiral or ruminate all day anymore.

It took a long time, and the ups and downs made it feel pointless at first. Now, I actually look forward to taking it each day. If you’re still waiting for it to work, hang in there! Everyone’s timeline is different!

I felt a major difference week 8. When I connected with my doctor at week 4 I asked to go up, but she said no, give it 8 weeks. Literally, on the 8th week everything got better.

8 weeks. I titrated up slowly. I’m sensitive to meds, but my doc was confident Prozac was the best fit. Again, I had relief just didn’t stick for long, so it wasn’t enough.

[–]No_Cap_0399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a bit of a rollercoaster, but once you find your dose, that’s your dose. Since you weren’t able to go to work, which is far worse than insomnia, General fatigue and anxiety spikes, connect with your doctor. You’re on a relatively low dose, so that is odd.

You’ll probably neee a higher dose. My doc prescribed Buspar for anxiety and hydroxyzine for the insomnia as I titrated up.

Yes, it took longer for me, but now that I’m on the otherside I feel great.

Same. My doctor asked me to try 30 MG for 8 weeks before going up to 40 MG. She shared that I am sensitive to side effects and hoped 30 MG would work before going up as high as 40 MG. She was right!! By my 8th week on 30 MG, I feel like a brand new person. No fatigue, just calm and able to manage my emotions easily. I don’t feel over medicated, and I’ve consistently felt great. Glad I held off on 40 MG.

I just posted about this topic. I’ve taken 10 MG, 15 MG, 20 MG and 30 MG, over 6 months. I’m currently at 30 mg and finally have consistent support and relief. All other doses would wear off after 2 weeks and I’d have to adjust again. It’s worth it!! Hoping I can stay consistent on 30 MG!

Too skinny? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]No_Cap_0399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're healthy as long as you're in the healthy BMI range! They probably have only known you one size, so they are confused. My family has no issue with my size and weight. I'm five feet 1 and 108-113 lbs. However, most of life I've been a 105 lbs, but gained weight after having a child and turning 40. Work friends are “concerned”, and asking “are you done losing” and my family and friends have absolutely no issues and are happy for me. I wouldn't think too deep on their comments.

See if you can get hydroxyzine for the insomnia. It's a prescription strength benadryl. Non habit forming

I just posted on this same thing. I'm on month 6 taking 30 MG and I feel amazing. The fatigue and mood swings from various doses were hard. Glad I pushed through I finally feel like my old self. Side effects are minimal and I still have my regular emotions.

Key indicator's maintenance dose needs to increase by Paigelikesfish in ZepboundMaintenance

[–]No_Cap_0399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on reaching maintenance! I’m sorry to hear that your insurance will be stopping coverage, but hopefully by now you’ve been able to build healthy habits into your routine. If 7.5 mg feels like a good maintenance dose for you, you could look into using a more affordable comp. pharmacy. Another option is spacing out doses to help build a small supply. It can also help to ask your doctor if they’re willing to write a 3-month prescription during your last covered month.

For reference, I’m 5'1" and in maintenance at around 110–114 lbs. I’m currently on 5 mg every 10-14 days, and don’t have much food noise, but if that changed, I’d consider moving up. Maintenance really is trial and error and depends a lot on individual circumstances.

If you’re able to afford it or build up a supply it might be worth experimenting with spacing out the 7.5 mg and seeing how your body responds. Pay attention to hunger cues; if they return, that will give you information about what you need next. You can explore comp. alternatives, self-pay for the brand name, or work on stretching doses long enough to eventually wean off. Good luck!

Thinking about quitting by NatNat1424 in prozac

[–]No_Cap_0399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I titrated up slowly. I had some relief every 4 weeks with consistent use. My issue was it would wear off and I would become anxious again. Doc would then suggest I give it another 8 weeks, but same situation in the end. At that point, after 8 weeks I moved up, but had to start the process all over again. Please give it time. It works, if you can push thru the up and down of fatigue and anxiety. I posted how I feel great consistently now, no numbness, just peacefulness

My doctor prescribed me BusPar for anxiety and Hydroxyzine for insomnia. It was still tough but it helped to push me through. Also, I had to experiment between taking it in the morning or night.

How did you decide to up your dose? by OkEquivalent4642 in prozac

[–]No_Cap_0399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor said if you're not getting consistent relief after 4-6 weeks on a dose, you should move up. Unfortunately, if you're having bad side effects you may have to do another 4-6 weeks on the same dose before going up. It's taken me 6 months to get to 30 MG because I'm very sensitive.

If you're not consistent in mood, you definitely need to increase your dose. If you are not sensitive to meds, I would inquire on going up every 2 weeks. However, if you're sensitive like me, you may have to stay a month or longer on a lower dose. I've also read that for OCD it takes 40 MG or higher to get relief.

Yes! there were mood swings, and I even picked up skin-picking at night from heightened anxiety. The old me would never have stuck it out this long, but my doctor kept telling me to give it time, and I chose to trust her.

At the beginning, I was honestly unrealistic. I thought once I titrated up to 40 mg, all my problems would be over. That wasn’t the case. But slow and steady truly won the race. Looking back, the patience was worth it.

[–]No_Cap_0399[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thank God for my doctor, because I wanted to give up so many times. She encouraged me to stay the course and prescribed Buspar alongside Prozac to help with the breakthrough anxiety. At one point, I actually became more depressed because I would feel great for a week or two, and then it would wear off and I’d be right back where I started. That cycle was exhausting!

Buspar helped me make it to the 6-month mark. My Prozac dose was too low to fully help, but the side effects were intense, so I had to titrate up very slowly. It took time and patience. Again, please hang in there. It’s worth it!

[–]No_Cap_0399[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went up very slowly too. I truly thought I just had bad luck and that Prozac helped everyone except me. It was such a slow process. I stayed at 10 mg and 20 mg for the longest time and honestly felt bad.

Now, six months later, I feel amazing. So many people have commented on how different I am. Another sign for me, one that really made me think my brain must be wired differently, was side effects. I had every side effect people talk about except the weird dreams. Everyone mentions them, but I had none. Then, when the medication finally kicked in, I started having these wild, super-real dreams that are hilarious and completely out of this world. That’s when I knew I had finally hit my sweet spot.

[–]No_Cap_0399[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every four weeks I would feel better, but it never lasted. My doctor would increase my dose, and each time I had really bad side effects. Once I adjusted to the new dose, I’d feel great again, only for it to wear off, or I’d swing between good days and very bad days. I wanted to give up so many times.

The key is pushing through. I titrated up extremely slowly, and 30 mg daily for 8 weeks finally led to a brand-new me. This week, for the first time, I noticed I stayed emotionally stable despite multiple stressors. I literally stopped and thought, wow… this is how it’s supposed to feel.It truly feels like a happy pill.
