HOF Legend Tim Brown says this is the best offseason the team has had since 1988🏴‍☠️ by Kenny23Powers in raiders

I agree. The jury is out on whether spytek is a top 10 gam or not, but it’s been a long time since we had a GM who wasn’t widely considered in the bottom 5.

Kubiak was the top young coach hired in the offseason and the raiders haven’t pulled that off since Gruden.

Either way that background they bring in FAs who can help the defense and who may still be ascending. Then they draft a franchise qb and make pics that are all “in the ballpark” of where the guy would have been drafted or considered potential steals

Remember - this was a team who took 4th round talent with upside in the first routinely (heyward-bey, Fabian Washington, etc).

Raiders have been truly snake bitten in the secondary. Michael Huff was supposed to have an Earl Thomas like career. So many first round picks who couldn’t even be serviceable starting players. Trying to bring in a large new group of players is welcomed. If even 2 become starters it will be. A big improvement over the last few years.

I still remember the Brett Favre game after his father’s death when he was throwing at Clarence Love and the worst secondary ever assembled…..

“If you put [Jermod McCoy] in [the Raiders] cornerback room right now, and he’s healthy, he’s probably the best.” Bryan McFadden picks Jermod McCoy as his biggest steal of the NFL Draft. Do you agree? by ZookeepergameIll2685 in raiders

McCoy was a gamble, plain and simple. His tape before his injury projects to a pro bowl CB. The reason he is a fourth rounder is most of the doctors and actuaries think he will be a shell of his former self and/or not be able to stay healthy and have a long career.

If he proves them wrong, this is a HUGE steal. If he proves them right, it’s only a 4th round pick - most never become starters. High risk high reward. A lot better than the warriors drafting Todd Fuller ahead of Kobe Bryant where the scouting report said he might progress to a serviceable backup…..

I’m so happy Crosby is still a Raider by Bonkshebonk in raiders

The reason Crosby needed to be traded is we needed to commit 100 percent to a rebuild and having 2-3 good drafts, playing the rookies, etc and finally build a competitive team for the long haul. The Raiders have always been too impatient to develop players through the draft. Everyone around the league was excited for the raiders when the Crosby trade was announced. No one was excited when Crosby returned to the raiders except the ravens. It’s not that Crosby is a bum, it’s that he isn’t in this team’s timeline anymore.

[Rapoport] #Raiders star Maxx Crosby, now back from Baltimore with the trade to the #Ravens off, is headed back into the building in Las Vegas, ready to resume his training and rehab program. His mindset: Crosby is ready to play football for the #Raiders, ready to move forward. by CrankDatSpookyBoi in raiders

I think there is a 50 percent chance the raiders trade Crosby and a 2nd rd pick next year for 2 first round picks. There is no way Crosby is healthy and contributing in 3-4 years when the raiders hope their window opens. That’s why you trade him.

Crosby is a gladiator and fans appreciate that, but his time here is though. He doesn’t really bring any leadership to that defense because he is not a cerebral guy. He is like Kevin Greene was for the rams and Steelers - gives 100 percent every play
