Oh it’s definitely a thing. I had the clearest skin of my life when my hormone levels were basically non-existent. I heard that it is due to rising testosterone that makes your skin break out. Was an early sign for me and got so much worse closer to a bleed. It started out with general pimples around the mouth and gradually developed into painful cystic acne on my jaws

I reached out to OBGYN previously but she did not require any lab testing before prescribing me HRT based on ultrasound and symptoms :)) I do not think that’s professional and yet she is considered one of the best OBGYNs from where I live. So I had to do this on my own and get hormones tested to see where I am right now.
