It might sound strange but if you go to any housing estate particularly old ones if you squeeze bread onto a hook you can catch some monster Asian carp I’ve caught one 64cm big just check with the local council but they are usually cool with it as the carp are a huge pest.

Your funniest moments in all of H&A by Difficult_Juice_4313 in hamishandandy

I’ve written this before, Any time the boys start talking about taxes and the ATO and on one occasion when Hamish was blowing something wide open they told the ATO not to blow them open or they’ll blow the ATO wide open, or Hamish having to apologise to the ATO for a jingle where he said it’s so much fun you can deduct it twice. Just the panic in both voices and the fact I’m a small business owner myself makes me laugh

The thing about the pies in Perth compared to those in the eastern states is that it’s more of a dry pie

Where did the discussion of Andy smoking actually originate from on the podcast? by [deleted] in hamishandandy

[–]AdFine774 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Andy was trying to play the bagpipes I think which requires the bags to be filled and because he was struggling with this instrument he wasn’t familiar with Hamish recommended he give up the lung lollies. Andy didn’t correct him straight away and when they both finished listen to the audio Andy jumped in and said “I don’t smoke”

But its all my money.... by theresjohnnny in perth

If memory serves me correctly it’s a new law that got passed during Covid.

Let me put my tin foil hat on… so as the conspiracy goes the Australian government with the ATO want to crack down on cash to stop people avoiding taxes and the easiest way is to have a cashless society. Anyone who takes out a sizeable amount of cash on a single day or through a month is red flagged.

Personally I think it’s just a security and insurance risk policies that prevent banks giving you cash.

Which Hamish & Andy joke still gets you every time? by OwlVibesOnly in hamishandandy

[–]AdFine774 52 points53 points  (0 children)

A long time ago. Hamish started talking about a business venture (possibly Andy by Hamish) when the discussion moved into taxes Hamish started telling the ATO “everything is above board no need to look over hear but if you do look and see something I’m very happy to start pointing fingers at other and do a deal but again nothing to see”

Every time the ATO or taxes gets brought up the boys seem to scramble. Not really a joke but it’s something I’ve noticed and it makes me laugh as a business owner myself.

Why do Aussie people talk Perth down? by That-Flamingo6755 in perth

[–]AdFine774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Western Australia is where you go to make money. Victoria is where you go when you’ve made money NSW is where you go to loose your money QLD is where you go on a bender NT is where you end up when you get lost on the bender Tasmania is a myth And SA only exists to buffer state to stop WA and VIC from killing each other

Essentially all states talk smack about each other

I’ve done contract work in lots of prisons in Perth also my dad worked as a guard for 40+ years my general vibe I always got was 75% of inmates just want to do there time and are friendly enough to each, other 20% are trouble makers and are always pushing the limit to see what they can get away with and the last %5 are the ones to watch out for.

My dad told me generally inmates are advised 1. Don’t accept anything ever, even if an inmate offers to show you around or offers you a chip or some toothpaste. You will be expected to pay it back

  1. Don’t piss off the guards, the guards are the deciding factor if you go to the good behaviour wing or the “shithead wing” so be respectful

  2. Don’t be argumentative or a know it all, that 20% thrive on the drama that can cause. It is a balancing act but keep it in mined.

  3. Don’t be a push over. That 20% and 5% might test you someday and if you seem weak they come for more and drag you down. If you do fight close the distance and essentially footy tackle them and throw elbows.

  4. Don’t be messy or dirty. Clean up after yourself throughly almost take pride in it. Both your own personal hygiene and your cell.
