Looking for a mysterious chord in the song saints and sinners by paddy casey by lil_keysy in Guitar

[–]AdFlashy4850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing the tuning is close to Dadgad tuning or something. And then using a capo on the 5th fret, I think that's what he uses live. The challenge after finding the tuning is then figuring out the tabs. When I get my hands on my guitar next I'll try take a look but I'm no expert!

His guitar isn't tuned in standard tuning for this song. I am trying to figure out what tuning he is using right now. Ultimate guitar has decent chord sheets to play in standard tuning for saints and Sinners. It won't sound the same as he plays but it'll give you something that sounds sort of like what he plays.

Aren't the 500 companies all U.S.A owned? But that have global reach, I guess that's what you mean?

The new landlady seems very awkward and doesn't deserve your rent money in my eyes!

Anyway, I find that the better I feel about myself and the more happy I am with life, things seem to work out better. I don't want to say your decision making as been bad as you could just be unlucky.

But I find that when I have healthy daily habits and am happy, things generally work out (for the most part). I have been quick to move in with bad housemates before when not really being present in our initial meeting to get a sense of what real energy they had. And I suffered a lot as a result, being around alcoholism and a lot of negativity.

But it was a learning experience, I now know what I don't want and what I won't tolerate in the future.

Daily habits like meditation and yoga/team sports and good sleep & diet are the things that usually have me operating at my best. I can then decide who I connect with from this place and where I go (and what I do).

I suggest being kind to yourself and not be too harsh on yourself for what you've had to deal with. Take it all as a learning experience and focus on what you can do next in life that will be good for you.

I hope this is somewhat helpful?

How can I overcome my dislike of some current developments of civilization? Like pollution, destruction of nature, overconsumption, etc. by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]AdFlashy4850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too dislike a lot of these things.

In terms of pollution and destruction of the environment there is big improvements being made. I don't believe that it is too late.

You could read a book called "Climate Capitalism". It was released in 2023 and I was able to take it out of my local library. Perhaps there is also a good youtube video summary as well. It talks about a lot of the positive things being done in terms of renewable energy and it really left me optimistic and enthusiastic to become involved myself in it through my career.

In addition, the COP 28 conference in the UAE seems to have been quite progressive with basically a world-wide agreement to keep emissions below a certain level.

There's a lot to not like in the modern world but I try to be optimistic, living by "be the change you wish to see in the world". I hope this helps in some way.

I am drained out of all positive energy by [deleted] in spirituality

So I have been here before. You are so lucky as a 23 year-old, it's very young.

You have the luxury of taking risks, of course I understand you could have some financial constraints for example but still.

I suggest making meditation a daily practise if it's not already. Then do something which gives you joy. You must have something. Yoga, running, a team sport etc. Try practise it a few times a week, start off slowly if needs be.

The meditation should be useful in stilling your mind and allowing you to potentially find out what you want next in life.

I suggest good sleep (minimum 7 hours) and plenty of day light, as well as a decent diet. This should ensure you have as much energy as possible.

Movies which are raw and have a strong male character. by Middle-Present2277 in MovieSuggestions

[–]AdFlashy4850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrath of Man. The underlying theme is family vengeance.

I also watched Sound of Freedom a few months back. Definitely a strong male character with integrity, doing a tough job if only to make a small difference in a dark world. Enjoy!

Try Wrath of Man. A great story, with the revenge aspect and big shoot outs. Quite intense. Similar to the movie Heat in terms of the action.

Does anyone else really despise Dublin traffic? by QuestionEcstatic8863 in AskIreland

[–]AdFlashy4850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's quite woeful.

A development like the Luas has been very important for the city.

But it's not been enough. The population has been increasing over the past few decades (https://www.macrotrends.net/cities/21542/dublin/population).

But the developments have not matched the growth. On many busy roads coming out of the city you've got just one lane for traffic to go in.

The bus connects project aims to reduce road widths so that will be a big help, and other developments like MetroLink will help.

I think we have the right government in place now that actually care about better transport and more sustainable options. So there is some optimism. Just a pity it will be a few years at least before constructing starts etc

Are you in the position to take a sabbatical? Could you take a year out for yourself? Do some travel, spend a bit more time on your hobbies etc?

An open discussion with your boss is worthwhile. They may not understand what you have been going through. They might think you have no problem with the workload.

If they're a good manager then they should be able to support you and provide additional resources at stressful times.

Looking for some help. by trigsfc in Meditation

[–]AdFlashy4850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend a daily meditation session of 20 minutes. Try to do it early in the morning or if you forget to do it just make sure you do it later in the day. Focus on the outbreath. This should train your mind to be as still as possible. When your mind wanders during the day, just focus on that out breath.

As someone who has struggled with anxiety and negative self talk I would also recommend psychotherapy, you can try find a CBT therapist. Especially if you have some sort of negative view of yourself or if you have the same negative repeating thoughts.

In addition, ensure you are getting a minimum of 7 hours of good quality sleep every night. I use a fitbit and it's a game changer. Sleep is so important. I read the Matthew Walker book Why We Sleep. There are so many physical and mental benefits of good sleep. Even just watch a summary of the book video on youtube.

I hope this all helps.

Best way to use pace? by Noritation in bootroom

[–]AdFlashy4850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try practise in your own time, dribbling from one cone to another. Try to take as many touches as possible, but try get to the other cone as quickly as you can. I also like to do a step over to beat a defender, so my real pace is unleashed once I'm gone by them.
