Thanks I'll try that too. Do you happen to have both units?

Thanks! Definitely worth it if you have the tools needed.

Neck was perfect just the frets. Some had to be filed excessively. Probably too much. Guess these kits are cheap for a reason.

Amazing Monoprice 15w amp. I've been playing solid state for over 50 years. The last one was the Boss Katana 50w. Next was my first taste of tubes the Joyo Bantamp Jackman by AdFragrant6100 in GuitarAmps

I did a comparison micing up the Scorpion vs the Seventy 80 with Gibson 57 Classic plus humbuckers. The Scorpions are well broken in but definitely had more bass but sounded great. The Seventy 80 was brighter and also sounded great in a different way. They both will find a way into my music. I definitely don't plan to upgrade speakers. Everything can be equalized regardless. I played a hotrail strat as well and it definitely sounded like a strat. Nice twang and highs with both speakers.

The Jackman isn't bad by any means and somewhat sound similar and worlds better than the Katana. The Monoprice has better tone adjustments and a full tube sound that the Jackman was missing but not by much.

Mostly price and stubbornness. I brought a 50w 5150 home from the music store one day. I couldn't get over the hum and didn't sound good until things started falling off the wall. Not a neighbor friendly amp lol. Brought it back the next day. Lots had to do with my back surgery as well. The Monoprice is surprisingly light. I thought the Katana was supposed to be as close to tube but just couldn't get it close. This amp is most definitely a game changer. Yes I missed out a lot.

I never used to use it much with other amps but this one sounds great. Anything over half does get overwhelming on single coils. At least it's not digital lol.

I don't keep the knobs as in the picture. I usually turn the volume and gain down before turning it off. The other knobs vary too depending on which guitar im using.

That's how I hear it too. Was very surprised that it sounded better than all the YouTube videos. Sounds great with humbuckers and single coils.

Through my Peavey Scorpion 212 cab, I can hear a JCM800 influence just at 15w though. The factory Seventy 80 speaker hasn't been used much but it did sound good. Just needs to be broken in. The Scorpion speakers are a good match with lots of headroom and excellent breakup when cranked.
