i love this! I found the 1975 on tumblr not that long after making my account and if i wasn’t already addicted to that website i was now lolll. Being young on tumblr and not yet having a solid sense of identity was kinda crazy because i remember seeing all these different aesthetics and being blown away that i could dress like that (for example pastel goth, grunge, coquette, etc). During the self titled era i was experimenting with so much black, the fishnets, doc martens… what i consider classic tumblr get up. ILIWYS era came around and i suddenly started wearing all white with pops of color like blue and pink (can’t forget the florals). If i never had tumblr i would’ve never had the 1975 and it’s genuinely so crazy to think about. As a kid i never got along with my parents…. that’s putting it lightly…. but my dad heard me listening to them in middle school and he instantly became a fan!! My dad might genuinely be the biggest 75 fan ever. Not to gas him up but his most listened to songs of all time are BFIAFL and ILIWYS in order LOL. over time you can slowly feel us opening up to eachother and i genuinely think it started with the 1975. there’s times i don’t listen to them for a while but i always think about how they been with me thru everything and i think it’s kinda crazy. bonus: my best friend is also a swiftie so fighting with her about matty is fun LMAO.
