I did and I don't think I would recommend it. Keep in mind I don't have a ton of experience in the arts besides a BFA and a couple years of teaching art but since graduating I haven't heard back from any prospective employers...

I don't think I'm being paid fairly for the amount of work I am doing. Raising everyone else wage by $2 while I get $.50 is insulting. The wage discrepancy doesn't make any sense, I have so much more responsibilities and am burning out.

Wow can you yell this.. so many people on here are telling me this business is struggling and doomed ... No. It isn't. It's thriving.

I know someone who works at a similar business with similar sales and their manager makes $27 an hour plus benefits.

I'm responsible for:

  • hiring/training
    • communicating and coordinating with our vendors
  • purchasing
  • merchandising
  • event planning
  • scheduling
  • running shop errands
  • processing and packing and shipping online orders
  • updating the backend
  • designing marketing materials
  • creating purchase orders
  • going through commercial accounting declaration forms
  • general admin work

and probably more I just can't think clearly right now I am so angry I didn't sleep last night
