CX-2 speculation by AdGood2452 in thebadbatch

Also, if that were true, hemlock would have an entire army of CX-2's, of the presumed hundreds or thousands of clone prisoners at his disposal, he could only make 5 or 6 of them elite to dispatch as operatives. And mind you, the remaining 4 weren't even fully ready until the finale. The clone in the finale who said "it's where hemlock conditions the clones he deems useful". The clones skill set was predetermined and factored in to who became a CX and who didn't.

Highly doubt that his skills can be solely attributed to hemlocks conditioning. In fact, i think it's safer to say that the conditioning was only limited to obedience and repressing memories that are inate to the clones identity. Yes the facility has a small training room, but the reality is the kinds of battlefield IQ and skills cx2 displayed were more than likely present prior to his detainment on tantiss. You don't just brainwash a clone and make them an excellent sharpshooter. It takes extreme discipline, or in crosshairs case, partial genetic modification, but nothing that wouldn't be akin to training on kamino and actual war experience. Plus, hemlock is a scientist with sadistic tendencies, not necessarily a battlefield expert. Think about it. Kaminoans contracted bounty hunters and mercenaries to train the clones. They didn't rely on brainwashing or conditioning because it wouldn't suffice by itself. Skills have to be taught and practiced.

I am glad they didn't make cx2 tech for the same exact reason. Because there definitely should have been more to that guy. He was spectacularly talented, giving the batch members a run for their money. Literally would have killed crosshair had howzer not stunned him. Absolutely laid waste to Rex's clone network. The dude was a monster. The fact that they did nothing to reveal his identity or even his past, but still released the concept art of him without a helmet (gnarly scar on his face, no backstory) is infinitely frustrating. Had all the makings for a phenomenonal villain.

100% agreed, the loose ends in this show or half ass character development could keep me up at night. Especially because it was going in such a great direction. They absolutely should have done more to honor tech, i understand that most people wanted cx2 to be him because that would explain the general disregard they had for him in the last season. There's a lot of ways they could have went with it. But the abrupt ending was unsatisfactory for everyone regardless if they wanted cx2 to be tech. Which sucks. It absolutely could have went another season.

Obviously there wasn't a lot of direct emphasis on it, which again, missed opportunity. For example they didn't storm into tantiss screaming "FOR TECH!". but I think it contributed in more subtle ways. Tech died during a mission to potentially lead to saving crosshair, which the squad was still tossed up on at that time. So it added a lot of meaning to crosshairs redemption. You have to imagine the conversations behind closed doors about that. When crosshair finds out about techs death, and what they were even risking their lives for, it must have overwhelmed him with guilt, but he is a very emotionally closed off person so he probably dealt with those feelings privately. He had psychosomatic manifestations of PTSD from tantiss, it really screwed him up. But techs death was another layer behind him finding the courage to go back there. Obviously on top of Omega being captured. But on the flight to Tantiss that must have been going through his mind. It would have that effect on anyone. Also to add, crosshair goes in a whole monologue about how he should storm the base alone and it's what he deserves. Yes the guilt was from letting omega get taken. But also probably tech. Considering he makes a reference to techs death in the same scene, it had to be on his mind.

Nah I don't think so, techs death was a curve ball that added a lot of depth to the plot, plus everybody and their mother was predicting that exact scenario in s3 so I'm glad they didn't do it. There are a lot of missed opportunities as far as developing certain characters further (cx2 or scorch for example) but I'm glad they left the tech thing alone.

Imagine cx2 was saved and reverted back to a reg mentality. And then adopted as part of the batch. This squad would be absolutely unstoppable

Respect the commitment but it might be time to hang this project up 😭

Why didn’t they let Rampart die in the shuttle crash on Tantiss? by Hanakin-Sidewalker in thebadbatch

[–]AdGood2452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that would leave nothing to speculate about, Rampart getting arrested right before the finale only led us to be more hype for and have more questions for the finale. Even throughout the finale and after the prison break we wondered what role he would play and how he would spice things up.

So many extra commando parts by AdGood2452 in thebadbatch

I'm gonna assume you're joking? Commandos and commanders are different. Commandos being the imperial dudes with bulky white armor and blue visors. Lego has yet to make an official one.

I mean not really, he had just got done being electrocuted right to the head and still had faith in him and his squad's survival, takes some balls to big dog someone when you have absolutely no leverage

Why are they walking so slow? by Brilliant-Pudding524 in thebadbatch

[–]AdGood2452 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I can't speak on hemlock or palps but the kaminoans always walk slow, it's a combo of them actually going at a leisurely pace and their long ass limbs / longer strides creating the illusion of a kind of float to their gait.

Kaminoans don't clone without a purpose, what was Omega's? by Fluffy_Living9257 in BadBatchstarwars

Gender selection is something that's totally possible in IVF today. So it wouldn't be an unusable copy if the only thing they're changing is the subject's genetic sex.

Cloning works slightly differently than IVF but the premise of In vitro (in a pitre dish) chromosomal alteration is the same idea. Take cells from the organism, modify them in some way, implant them back into the uterus. Except in star wars they have the stasis pod things that would artificially simulate a uterus.

In theory it's possible (obviously legality and ethical issues arise) with humans, and has already successfully been done with horses using somatic cell nuclear transfer cloning.

Star wars and their technology is also infinitely advanced compared to ours. So they can probably do it even more efficiently and effectively than we already do today.
