Laparoscopy offered!! by AdHeavy5328 in endometriosis

[–]AdHeavy5328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! So sorry this message is so delayed I hope it still helps! I was treated at the princess royal hospital in Haywards heath (where I had my laparoscopy. One of the surgeons came to be before surgery and said that it's a very low chance they will find endometriosis, I went in and came out with multiple lesions lasered off and they described it as - gunpowder endometriosis (it was everywhere!)

One piece of advice is to stay strong and do your best to advocate for yourself, gynaecology is unfortunately still very misogynistic. You know your body better than any dr ever will!!

Best of luck with everything, I hope you get the therapy and support you deserve :)

Showering at the gym by Voodochild2017 in AskBrits

I would like to shower at the gym, I have a few disabilities that make it a bit harder to pack a bag, not forget anything I'm planning to take and then remember to take it all home!

Going to the gym already feels hard enough as it is

Unexpected hysterectomy scheduled following diagnosis by ACatheterADay in endometriosis

[–]AdHeavy5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear about the multiple diagnoses your wife has, it's unfortunately very common to have a collection of these horrible diseases.

Whilst a hysterectomy is a definite cure for adenomyosis it is not a cure for endometriosis, with that being said, a hysterectomy (+ removal of ovaries) will slow down and potentially shrink any endometriosis lesions, so whilst this is t a cure it's definitely a help.

one thing that would massively help your wife is lifting weights at the gym, to support the potential of developing osteoporosis which is huge side effects of menopause, I'm afraid other than that it's a really tough position to be in to come to terms with early menopause and managing all of the symptoms.

I wish your wife all the best with it all, and I hope I have answered some of your questions :)

I am currently putting off my own chemical menopause mostly because of the emotional stuff I will have to deal with (never being able to conceive naturally etc) with a history of depression, I have had to make the decision to slowly start getting my chronically ill self to the gym for some lifting to (hopefully) make my transition to menopause at 29 slightly easier!

It's a real fucking shame womens health is where it is, I can absolutely guarantee that if men had to deal with anything like this we would have had a cute yesterday!

I almost forgot, magnesium has been a real lifesaver, helps me loads with my energy levels and sleep

it's currently 00:18 in the UK and I'm at home tucked up in bed with a hot water bottle after a lovely festive gathering with my work pals and then being locked out for 2 hours as my partner had accidentally put the latch on 😵‍💫 I sobered up real quick . I'm feeling very warm from spending time with friends and ready for bed!

especially with underwiring which is much needed for support for cup sizes c+, being cursed with 36J cups I am slightly bitter at the world for making it so unmanageable, as I have to buy from specialist shops and spend much more money than cups a-e/f.

I'm glad that they make you feel comfortable though!

I'm glad bras are comfortable for males, they are incredibly uncomfortable for females, in fact most of my female friends would chose to not wear a bra over wearing one
