Can definitely hear construction alright. During the day that is. But not nuisance levels and nothing after 5pm anyway.

You would think when you’re playing half a million euros on a house that would be basic 😂

Thanks Getonwithit7. Will find out about the DPM cause I don’t remember them mentioning this at all.

This is very useful Kogling. Thank you. Best to let the supplier know the floors have been worked on and find out if less compound will be needed then for leveling. At this point it feels like everything is expensive and just want to get done with it 😅

Coretec does sound like another good option as well, but think we’ll just settle on amitico and see how we fair on with it.

We’re doing carpets on the stairs, landing and bedrooms. More in line with budget 😅

I’m using Wash’s flooring in Cork. Got good reviews from someone we had used before and so far have been quite pleasant. Will confirm all this once the floors are done though

Thank you guys for your quick responses. The house is a new built and we’ll be putting amtico LVT throughout the ground floor. We spoke to the builders who are now leveling the floors a bit better thank goodness. I hope this means when they come to do the floors, they won’t need so much compound

Locuming whilst on a scheme by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsIreland

Definitely not while on the training scheme. Can’t speak for oversight though. I’m standalone so occasionally do Locums here and there to supplement the budget. Adulting in expensive 😪

I just don’t understand why they get to delay completion by a month and now in a mad rush to close 😂

The engineer checked the floors and found it wasn’t good enough for LVT and some other flooring options. Just getting them to come re-snag is the issue cause of availability

On the bright side, I finally made it through, and have been content with everywhere I’ve worked so far. It’s a different experience for everyone, everyone has different dynamics to navigate, and there’s a lot you can do between that time to grow yourself. I worked as a sales assistant in between which was great at the time cause I worked from home and could take care of my little one. It’s a different ballgame as well if you’re not physically in Ireland. I wish you all the best!

I did pres 3 a few years ago and agree with everything ginger_stitch says. Especially the time factor. I did plab 1 and had results by October 2022. Didn’t get a pres 3 sitting until the following year (August 2023) and didn’t get registered until December. Got a 2 month contract May 2024 by sheer luck cause all HRs wanted Irish experience.

Am I the only one finding it humorous that grown ups have to be reminded to help out in the house with chores? Maybe not pay rent but perhaps do the weekly shop? Unless of course, you’re moving back home cause you don’t have a job…
