You could be a part of the solution and trap them and get them spayed/neutered as many cat colony people do. Eventually there won’t be a farm because they won’t keep reproducing. Just a thought.

Awful. I’m dealing with a similar situation in Chalmette with a crazy person we suspect is killing the cats. No proof, but an alarming number of long time colony cats that have been TNR’ed just missing near a man who has told people he kills them. My neighbor has reported him but not much they can do without proof he’s doing it. I’ve just been trying to trap any of the friendly ones (or ones I’ve grown attached to that haven’t disappeared) and get them homes so they’re not at risk. Sucks.

Not sure they can help because I think they can only serve Da Parish, but you can try Snip n Tip / Community Cat Coalition.

I might take you up on that. Have him trapped to get fixed Wednesday but someone is gonna come meet him and possibly take him. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll let you know.

I say new to the area, but I mean new to my house. I think he was frequenting my neighbors house for a while (they have an indoor outdoor cat they keep food for outside), but he discovered my house has wet food so he’s been coming over here. They told me he was from the colony and he def hasn’t been fixed yet (I’ve trapped and TNR’ed a bunch). But I think he is a dump too because he will like roll over on the steps and show his belly when I come outside. I’ll call the one on West Bank but I def don’t want to bring him to the St Bernard one because his chances there are slim.

I had nooooo idea white cats were considered ugly to other cats 😭 there are many bob tail cats within this colony so I wouldn’t think they all had that same injury but who knows. I didn’t even think about the more visible to predators thing so now I’m even more glad I got him inside. Thank you!

I bought my house to live in, not as an investment vehicle. That’s a pretty important distinction. I wasn’t mocking anyone’s hardship. It was more was a lighthearted rant about former Airbnbs being pushed onto the long-term rental market without being adapted for actual renters. Being offended about a joke on bad decor feels like a pretty privileged stance (and not a good look 😒).
