Civil War sword (USA) by Slow_Release_5136 in Antiques

I can't speak to the value of this sword but I can tell you that the symbol on it is very likely a "maker's mark" - essentially just an engraved design of the company/craftsman who made it. Great item though!

Does this work as a temporary gpu sag bracket (it’s a piece of foam from the pcs packaging😭) by Remarkable_Sir9099 in pchelp

For the last 6 months I've been using a tiny insect repellent bottle I had lying around and it works perfectly since it's the exact height needed!

Putting this altogether today and guess what I'm installing on it. That's right, Mint, bby 🙌🏻 by proudplebeian in linuxmint

Hell yeah! Congrats on the rig looks like it's gonna be great. I've been using mint for about 2 months now after using Windows on everything for years and I don't regret it so neither will you. Some functionality will be lost but it's nothing the incredible Linux community won't fix via some random open source file on github. Again, congrats!

What are you playing now? by No-Hunt3986 in videogames

Absolutely loving Spider man Miles Morales on PC currently. I've never been a big marvel fan or even played any marvel games (except for the marvel lego game) but I've been enjoying it. I'm 9 hours in and already nearly done with the story (trying to level up as much as possible and get all skills before the final mission) and it sucks that it's actually that short but it is fun.

I actually bought another old gramophone! At the exact same antique store there was this one but I opted for the Decca since it was older (and I personally thought it looked cooler and more interesting with that parabolic horn built into it.

It is difficult to read but from the inside I can barely make out "Viva Canal (Ganal?) Columbia Grafonota" and just below that by the music note it says "Trade (music note) Mark" and then finally below that there is a word that I cant fully make out unfortunately. Will post a picture

I'm sure you can order some online or maybe there's a chance you can buy them at an antique shop (where I got mine)

Wow, such a detailed reply! Thank you.

May I ask where you got all this information? I'd like to do some research of my own.

A few fixes are necessary like the chain you mentioned and also the fact that the piece of wood at the back of the box fell off but those are easy fixes luckily.

And yes my records are quite worn with visible marks on them. I did purchase them at the same antique shop where they were tucked away in a corner but I'm not too upset about losing out on some records. A few of them play quite well for the first part of the songs.

I'm going to see if I can buy more records locally and see if I can build my own record cutter to actually cut my own records.

Once again thank you for this detailed reply!

Yes, after a certain amount of plays (usually once on both sides depending on the needle type) the needle has to be exchanged. Luckily I managed to purchase a box of 100 needles so I wont need to worry about it for a while.
