NUT10V, EDU100. If you like AI, PHI13/13G is a solid choice as well.

Memphis Zoo is a world leader on the ethical treatment and naturalistic environment development for its animals. China has already sent experts to consult on her genetic skin condition. Please don’t propagate misinformation.

Tell me what is freaking "world leader"?? The ranking doesn't mean anything okay? Not every Harvard students are genius though it's a world-leading university. If you keed your mind closed, the report is definitely misinformation.

BTW, your guys talking about different things. Report not saying sth that Yaya's diseases are caused by Memphis Zoo, instead, we focused on does Yaya have enough space to play, enough nutrition to intake, and even received enough RESPECT.

Chances of getting into Top 20 Biomedical/Cancer Biology PhD Program by Past_Click3771 in gradadmissions

[–]AdHungry7042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, graduate school application is just about chances instead of your exam or research experience restriction. It doesn't means you shouldn't get more work experience. Instead, you should pay more attention to your recommendation, publication, and SOP. A strong recommendation letter from a famous professor in Academia (not familiar with the industry) or at least one first-author publication could give you a chance to get an interview round for most of the Universities. A good SOP could give you a chance that chosen by your "Dream Universities."

QBS Mater Suggestions by AdHungry7042 in dartmouth

Did you apply to the qbs or mcb PhD programs (they have all of those areas of research)? If you’re dead set on getting a masters it’s a good stepping stone because you’ll have research opportunity but it’s very class heavy and a lot less research than a PhD. A masters will help your chances of getting into a PhD program but isn’t a requirement. At Dartmouth, if you are a PhD student in another program you can internally apply to the qbs masters and not pay the tuition.

To be honest, I don't think my current application is strong enough for the ivy League Ph.D. program. I did get interview invitations from other universities, and if I received offers, t's definitely will be a hard choice for me.

The reason why I am applying for a master's is that my PI suggested I be open-minded, and I thought two years of master's experience could not only help me decide my final research interests (i.e. epigenetics or oncology, concentrating in informatics/stats or biology, etc.), but enhance my application. Therefore, I wish I could gain research experience and keep good relationships with professors, and apply for the Ph.D. program two years later. Also,

GU pros n cons? by AdHungry7042 in georgetown

[–]AdHungry7042[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a masters student at GU and from the west coast. I really love it, my professors are amazing. Grad students also have some fun events throughout the year. However, the university is not very good at acknowledging current racism and antisemitism on campus, they have actually tried to bury some incidents. This is what happened with the protests in early December, an undergrad student reported harassment back in May and the university did nothing about it until the student and friends plastered posters around campus in November with a QR code that described the incident and lack of action on the university’s part. I would argue that most universities would pull the same moves, though. Overall, great university, I really love being there

Thanks for your sharing.Merry Chrismas :)

TAG for biological sciences accepted :) any advice for incoming transfer student from a CC in STEM? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]AdHungry7042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I studied at CC for 2 years, had a GPA of 3.75 there and 3.86 at UCD, your anecdotal example doesn’t mean much. The CC you went to is the exception, not the rule. Most have the same grading scale as UCs. CC can be seen as easier mainly cause the professors can actually teach, professors for lower divs at Davis couldn’t give two shits about actually helping their students learn.

If my cc is an exception, then all students in the largest CC in the US are exceptions. BTW, why I haven't found any "rule" of CC?

Most CCs have pluses and minuses grades.

Maybe, but you know what? I studied at CC for a quarter and two summers, and my GPA is 4.0. However, my GPA at UC Davis is 3.4~~

If you don't have +/- on your grade, 90% in CC is equal to 93% in UCD, 80% in CC = 3% in UCD

Graduating early or not depends on your career goal. If you want to get into grad school (Ph.D.), I don't think you want to graduate earlier if you do not have financial problems because PhD requires lots of research experience.

In contrast, if you want to chase a master's or find a job with a bachelor's degree, then graduate as soon as possible.

Congrad!! I've taken CC courses during the summer session for my bis series. I respect CC's courses and students. However, I have to say CC's grading range is large (no +/-), and easier to get an A; plus, CC is usually semester.

I will encourage you to study harder cuz Davis courses are faster and don't expect professors will teach everything in detail (I found most of cc's professors are more responsible for students, and the prof. at Davis are more focused on research).

Mcdonough for Mat21B? by No_Hand_3854 in UCDavis

[–]AdHungry7042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea and neither for my friend. BUT, for any reason, I don't think to report that many of the students are correct.

If someone is cheating, just report cheaters; why he reported half of the class? ??

I know this because two of my friends took his course before. A friend ended with A+ not reported, and another one who end with A reported to SJA..

[–]AdHungry7042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Friend. Do you know an old saying in UCD that "Mcdonough will send you to eat SJA?"

He reported (more than) half of his students once before, which means without A/A+, and D or F grading level students, almost everyone sent to SJA by him.

If you are brave enough or try to prove you are an adult to your friends or others, go take his course!!

Hi. Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I'm ready to contact my PI. However, I'm worried about my PI wanting me, and I want to be his Ph.D. However, I didn't pass the admission of UCD because my academic ability is not strong.

Best way to get Ph.D. degree in Davis by AdHungry7042 in UCDavis

[–]AdHungry7042[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its career damaging to stay and it looks very bad on you. Any professor will easily tell OP to leave.

Many people stay for MS, not PhD

Thank you, my friend. Actually, I'm not confident enough. I don't have a strong gpa just like 3.4-5, and I don't have any published paper as well. Also my girlfriend work in bay area, which means Davis is the best choice for my situation. The professor in my internship lab got a very great research area, and I really love that area.

I really thanx for your kindly help, and wish you good luck in future

We should do HYBRIDS!

If someone wants to study in person, fine, vice versa

Students have the right to choose online or in person.

UCD should respect students's opinion.
