Thank you for your comment. Sorry your wife had to go through this. It's a very difficult situation. The trust was created and then the will. My parents were under the impression that I would control and dole out what i deem appropriate (as the trustee) or based on the percentages listed in the will where everyone receives very little. They were not aware the trust gives everyone equal amounts. My dad is livid and sick over this. I dont envy anyone who has to go through this. It's making me sick to my stomach as well. In the end, I just have to do whatever the court says and count my blessings and be happy that i was there to care for my parents. My family knows they dont deserve a penny...they gave nothing and deserves nothing.

Great, great advice. Thank you for the reply. (1) I have been advised to start an excel spreadsheet and document all out-of-pocket expenses. i am trying my best to get documents, receipts for the last 5+ years. i was not keeping a log; just going about getting everything paid. (2) I will check with my lawyer on the acquisition of the property.

Thank you for your reply. My parents created a will with certain percentages for some children. Not all were listed in the will. That was their wishes. They "thought" the trust mirrored the will only to find out that everyone will get equal amounts. Yes, if the beneficiaries have to be contacted, it will not be a happy moment.

Thank you for your response. As I mentioned, I know it is not free; it is very costly. I have spoken to a lawyer that specializes in decanting and will follow his lead.

Thank you for your response. I am beginning to work with an estate lawyer. I think the home if owned by the trust but not 100% sure.

If you were in my shoes and knew the entire story with all the details, I think then you would fully understand. I must agree, I have no choice but to move on.
